The yearly Smiths Rumour...

The analysis means someone saw the whole "Coachella offered to go 100% vegetarian the following year" and took it as meaning "next year", giving credence to the "I know someone that says it's happening" nonsense that's always floating around.

Johnny Marr's manager has denied that it's happening - says he's focusing on his solo album in 2013.

manager, or PR manager?

I know his PR people have said that, and without going into why I'm of a very strong belief that that's an honest reply. However it's sometimes the case that the PR team are out of the loop.

I love The Smiths but I don't think I'd want them to reform (though a one off Glasto show would be special I imagine). I enjoy all the rumours but this one has been beaten to death surely?

This old drivel again? It's funny how this 'rumour' has circulated just in time for when the Glastonbury tickets go on sale, as it seems to have done for the past god knows how many years. I suppose the other two headliners will be Prince & Fleetwood Mac. Yawn, it gets old.

"The Smiths are never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever going to reunite – ever," Morrissey's publicist told Rolling Stone yesterday. Asked if there is a specific reason why the singer and guitarist will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever reconcile, the publicist said: "You'd have to ask Morrissey that. There's got to be a story there, and maybe one day it will be told."
