But the genre pop includes so many things. As was said a while back, chances are, any headliner of a major festival is going to have to include some pop elements. U2, Coldplay and Beyonce could all be deemed pop, same with The Cure, Kasabian and Foo Fighters at R&L this year. There's pop in it all.

I don't have any major dislikes, just a few little things.

• Not enough toilets in some areas

• Some areas can get really crowded and it can take ages to get to wherever you're going

• The thick, welly sucking mud.

• Fallow years

Yeah that kind of the point i was making in round about way, but it seems to me more people use pop in very tight area of manufactured acts (again something else I guess is subjective as to what constitutes manufactured) rather than the broad sense Neil is using it as. (Even though what he said is right.) I just think there's a fair few crossed wires over what we say when we say pop

i think those crossed wires are causing all sorts of confusion about what 'pop' festivals are up to with their bookings, and has caused many people to think of some festivals as being something they're not nor have ever been.

I've laid out in my previous posts how I see things with regard to that at Glastonbury.

But there's much the same going on with T in the Park too - where it's always booked (in the broadest sense) 'pop acts' for the majority of the bill. With the change in what is the current pop music, they think it's changed direction - while I see it as still booking pop acts and still using things like the sales chart to gauge which pop acts it should be booking.

That confusion hasn't been helped by the bookers for those fests often being wedded to a certain era of pop music and being a tad slow to update themselves - which they're now finally doing, to keep themselves relevant to a new generation of pop music fans.

If the large festivals don't keep themselves up-to-date with modern pop music, they're going to struggle to keep appealing to the numbers those festivals are set up to sell to.

I don't like the final 2-3 days before the festival. Every hour feels like it lasts an eternity!

I don't like the fact chai wallahs is now in the late night area! would love to see it moved to the park, or am i the only one who thinks this? Feel it 'fits' in better there with the relaxed vibe.

I also don't like the blokes who can't wait to get to a urinal which is mere meters away and pee down the sides of the cover which is around the urinal block!

Being in the middle of a very dense (in terms of numbers) crowd and suddenly realising you need to urinate and urinate now - not later. This necessitates leaving the crowd, finding a loo and then trying to get back through the crowd back to your mates again. This is easier said than done. I've seen blokes and one woman just piss in front of them whilst in a crowd!

The militant operation it takes for me and my mates to get there, from leaving earlier and earlier each year, to making sure we stick together in the queue and trying to find a decent pitch together.

People not letting us camp near them coz they are 'saving it for their mates' - bring their tents down then you twats.

4. the punters camp fields being used by crew camping when they've got oodles of space.

the punters camp fields having tents set up on them pre festival by workers. Doesn't give us a level playing field when the rush for camping space opens on the wednesday.

5. Pyramid palace for some reason gets on my nerves massively! (see points 4 and 5)!

The trying to co-ordinate everyone in your group to be in the same place at the same time when you're coming from different parts of the country.

The whole getting in, from the long walk to the amount of time it takes. Though that's really just impatience on my behalf!

That very little about Glastonbury remains a suprise anymore, especially when it comes to music. More than ever there are secret slots all around the site but nowadays you struggle to avoid hearing who's turning up where. Usually because some loud mouth nobber can't stay off Twitter for more than 10 minutes.

That I need a decent amount of sleep or else I'm like a burst couch! Especially when drinking. I'd love to be one of these types that can survive on a couple of hours sleep and get back on it without a care in the world

i'm a raver. i love dancing. i am of the opinion that disco and house are the greatest art forms mankind has yet created.

Think they're maybe spread it a bit to wide and thinly in the Dance village. Too many stages/areas if anything. Most of the stages are half dead for a lot of the day, and when there is a big name you can't get near.

If i was them I would make a bigger main dance stage/tent which people can actually get in for the headliners and concentrate the big names on there. Then maybe just have a couple of other much smaller venues.

That leads to the question why the need to feel you have to insult them in the first place. Your response also doesn't answer my initial question as to how qualified are you to be leading the charge on insulting some people who have only expressed a point of view. Maybe I've taken this wrongly and that it was actually meant as a joke. Was it?

I get the fact that it's changed alot and people can have their own opinions, it'd be a boring world if we all agreed on the same thing. BUT on the same token shoving your opinions in peoples faces and thinking you're all that just because you've been going longer than other people, is not on.
