There's a lot bigger solo artists right now than those 2 but Kanye did fuck all to help Big Chill last year and is very difficult to work as he trys to make the fest about himself and the last time Jay Z played an UK fest it was subbing to Kasabian.

*edit* note that I'm not saying booking Throne would be a bad thing but merely what that there would be problems getting them that would put people off and they aren't the 2 biggest solo artists in the world.

What's funny? What other male solo artists are as huge and successful at the moment?

And the festivals people have said they would suit, V, TITP and R&L, why wouldn't they even enquire about them? I can't see any valid reason why at least on of those wouldn't even make an enquiry about their availability to play. They sell loads of tickets and are absolutely massive in their own rights, even more so together.

Of course there would be interest in them.

The reason for the Big Chill not selling out last year?

I'm sick of hearing the Big Chill argument used against Kanye. One headliner does not sell a festival, the problem was not with him headlining, but certain other parts of the line up & the lack of marketing/advertising/targeting a specific audience.

On topic, Watch the Throne would be a massive headliner for any festival, but I do agree that I could see them doing V & TITP or even Glasto rather than R&L.

Indeed one headliner doesn't make a festival but given the size of Big Chill and apparently Kayne is one of the two "biggest solo artists in the world" it did the usual average to poor buisness shows he's not as big as his fans like to think he is if he needs lots of markerting and advertising.

If Jay-Z & Kanye didn't do an arena tour this year, they could have been a fairly big headliner at a festival this year and would have easily sold out day tickets for a festival with a relevant sub. I'd love FR to book them to headline next year but, in the light of the tour, I'm not sure they'd help to sell out weekend (or even day) tickets now.
