haha tell me about it, new divide is awful.

yeah i've just been checking all the rumoured bands really and what they're like these days. still think they're as likely as some of the other crazy suggestions, because at least they're still playing shows august time!

Maximo Park to play on the Biffy day? 3rd or 4th? They are in York on the 24/08, so they can play the Friday and Sunday of R/L.

other bands with dates (most have probably been mentioned, the bands at least):

- NOFX are in Germany on the 21/08

- Billy Talent are in Germany 16/08

- Skunk Anansie are doing European festivals so i would expect them to do one in the UK with R/L probably most likely.

- Flogging Molly are doing Euro fests in August

- Killswitch Engage have one Europe date in August so i would expect a few more to be added + a new album makes them pretty likely

- Skindred are doing Euro fests this summer, i would guess 50/50 wether or not they will do R/L

Are Avenged Sevenfold even likely? I heard rumours that they were one of the headliners for this years UK Sonisphere until it got canceled, so I guess they were going to be over here, and could play Reading instead

They were pretty good actually. It was busy enough but there were less people there than SOAD or even A7X the night before but that was mainly due to it pissing down all day and being more like January than June. I would be happy enough with them as the 3rd headliner as long as they don't play too much new shit. Would prefer any of the others hot suspects though.

Any chance of The Cribs headlining NME or something after the reaction to their set last year, since they're definitely about this summer? I hadn't considered it until someone was banging on about it on their facebook, but I think there's likely to be a bit of a hiatus after the summer (well, there was meant to be a bit of a hiatus right now but then Y Not and HRC got announced, so christ knows what's going on) and they seem to love R/L so that'd be a nice note to end on, if it was anything like last year.

SORRY IF THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED TEN PAGES BACK OR SOMETHING BUT I'M NOT WADING BACK INTO GAZZAGATE.

The Cribs are definitely an R&L band but I can't see then subbing the tent one year and then headlining it the next. If they were going to play then they'd probably be 5th 6th on the main like they were previous to last year.

Yeah, I get you - I suppose it depends on how serious they feel about taking a break right now, since if they do then R/L would end up being probably the last scheduled thing and playing low-ish on main would be less of a climactic thing, or whatever. I'm completely incapable of gauging their appeal anymore, really, I was properly surprised about Brixton getting downgraded to Shepherd's Bush.

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
    • Been last time in 2018 when the festival was happening in parque Bela vista. ls the new location good for such a big festival? What's the temperature in the evening near Tejo? Should we bring a raincoat or a jacket?
