RATM in full would be awesome, good idea too I reckon would definitely be more hype than a greatest hits set. I'll only believe it when it's announced though, the disappointment if Linkin Park were announced after expecting Rage to be would be unbearable! :banghead:

Yeah I mean I guess it could be rage, I just think it'd be a pretty stupid booking. I really don't think the "full RATM album" would excite most reading goers, I can't add to that really, it's just with their limited material, no set will ever feel that different to the next. I dislike when festivals get bands that played recently in high slots even if I love the band. It takes away the magic of fests, which is to see a wide selection of bands that you wouldn't necessarily usually see. Fair enough rage did play 5 years ago, but still, with no new material it'll be exactly the same

they have a new album coming out thou. Ratm and metallic don't as we know it. Sabbath do as well but with it only being they played with them once, they look less likely.

How do we take played with thou? Just played the same gig?, actually with them?

The group took its name from a poem that Malakian had written titled “Victims of a Down." The word "victims" was changed to "system" because Odadjian believed that the alteration would appeal to a much wider audience and also because the group wanted their records to be alphabetically shelved closer to their musical heroes, Slayer.

The third headliner could be Metallica, because...

In a recent Kerrang interview, System of a Down said "We had a great offer and we know who the final headliner of the festival is, which is one of the reasons we agreed to do the show. They're a band we've played with once before years ago, and this will be a really good opportunity to have a fun time together"

SOAD played Creeping Death with Metallica during their headline set at Reading 2003, which was ten years ago. Metallica then played five years later in 2008 and it has again been five years since they last played.

Metallica are supposed to be recording a new album, however they have been confirmed to headline Soundwave Festival in Australlia in Feb/March this year.

Also, with one of the headliners this year being Eminem, the festival managers may have chosen a heavier third headliner.

I know this by no means shows it is certain they will play, however it does support the rumour.

    • Zero chance of Primavera. Zero. Wrong festival.
    • If Reform do win in Makerfield then I think they're nailed on to win the next election, and labour will implode. Simple as that.
    • Bit close...if enough of those Restore votes go to Reform...
