I don't know with The Strokes. They seem bored wherever they are, as if they just turn up for the cash and then head off again. So I'm not sure if they would insist on being top of the bill. Who knows, we aren't The Strokes so we don't know how they think.

the American rules bit is a totally different thing to a fest. The country is a lot more strict in general i believe.

I've know for a while, when you go, you read the rules etc. You are still allowed campsite drinks. Just need to hide anything harder

This is edging closer to the stupid Leeds v Reading argument.

"I wouldn't go to Coachella as I don't like the fact that you can't drink while walking around in the arena"

"No you're wrong, it doesn't matter that you can't do that"

"It does to me, so I won't go"

"Wrong again, it doesn't matter"

"It does to me"

"it doesn't to me"

"It does to me"

"it doesn't to me"

"It does to me"

"it doesn't to me"

etc.

I see alot of people putting Placebo in their predictions, is there any actual evidence of this, like festival dates abroad or?

I'm not like having a go, I love Placebo but jut don't want to get my hopes up thinking they may play!

have you ever been to coachella?

When you do, you do a read of of people that have, tips and experiences for the fest which is reaching 30 easily early morning by time its 13 here. Its very rare you find a uk festival that is too hot. Glasto the other year, when snoop dogg played was bloody hot, drinking was dehydrating, just wanted water.

So its not silly at all. I'd agree the alcohol normally but when its hotter, warm beer, no thanks

Is everyone suggesting Jack White should sub because of his name or his solo album? i really didn't rate the album other than a couple of songs. I still think his best work is with The Raconteurs.

If Bloc Party went up against Eminem i would be distraught, also i dont think they've dropped from sub to tent, i reckon they'll play third down or sub again if they play. Although i wouldn't be surprised if they played V

Not all American festivals involve "penned" drinking. I would never go to one that does. I've visited several deserts and hot countries, worked my knackers off in them and also played sport or competed in them. I've also rehydrated myself and then had beer. I didn't die or anything! To be fair Coachella is no hotter than your average med holiday and we all know how much beer gets consumed on those. People should be given the opportunity to act responsibly, not nannied. For that reason I'm out.

Has anyone mentioned Kiss recently?

I can deal with the no drinking at Coachella, it wouldn't put me off going to a good music festival.

In fact, R+L isn't far off with not letting alcohol into the arena; forcing you to pay stupid amounts for shit beer which I assume many like me avoid doing. Yet here we all are.

Personally with Jack White? I'd have him headline on his solo album alone ...but yeah its more his name and plus he does White Stripes/Dead Weather/Raconteurs songs to. It's all brilliant stuff to me and the solo shows last year were amazing.

Mhmm maybe, but I think if they didn't sub, they could get offered an extended NME headline set, it would make more sense than having to drop to 3rd.

Yeah no drinking and a pretty disappointing line up...so jel :) Inset day today then Gazza?

And i just had a look and your right it wasn't you well you posted it but claimed it was from the reading forums...

Shame as I like that alot and could see it being feasible. (Maybe not C&S subbing )
