When they headlined Oxegen in 2009 they had to cut their set short as Graham Coxon had food poisoning I think.

Blur would be out of place at Latitude, they'd be all anybody was talking about and a massive chunk of attendees would be there only for Blur, it would ruin the serene Latitude balance.

Yeah I have friends who love Blur who wouldn't really fit in at Latitude; not troublemakers but people who I'd have a lot of fun tormenting by forcing them to come to theatre and poetry slams with me.

Now that my brother's at uni in Norwich, I should be doing Latitude one year soon, due to it being local. Depeche Mode would get me there this year.

couple of things;

-if longitude is indeed a partner festival of latitude, then I reckon that could potentially leader to bigger headliners. Blur might be a bit of a big jump though.

-I believe Depehce Mode have long made a point of having a gap between shows, even usually when they're in the same city, so London seems like a one off to me. RDB has definitely ruled them out of Bestival. For me, that leaves Reading, V and Creamfields, all of which seem unlikely. I guess they could be refering to something like Wireless as a festival, but then I can't see them playing Hyde Park if they're playing twice at the O2.

Can anyone else see Jake Bugg playing 4th, possibly even 3rd on the Main Stage? A number 1 album and the fact he's pretty much the most talked about musician in Indie right now would justify a slot like that.

Slightly related, Solo has confirmed he's not subbing the Stone Roses at IOW, that position hasn't even been booked yet...

Yeah I don't see V. Creamfields is an option but the last time I think they had a band that wasn't just danced based was 2008 in Kasabian. I'm not sure if it'd be Depeche Mode's cup of tea and vise versa.

As you say there is Wireless but any London show like that I would imagine would be their only London shows.

I think a question to ask maybe is would you accept Depeche Mode (there's a little bit of debate wether or not Melvin Benn has said all headliners have played before or not mind), Sabbath and Eminem?

No doubting Sabbath are waaaaaaay more iconic, but a) I prefer Mumford's music, and b ) they'd shift a lot more tickets

I'd love it. Depeche Mode and Sabbath would have been my number one choices for this year other than Pearl Jam, and Eminem I'll see if there's nothing else on.
