You are joking aren't you? The Roses are far bigger than most of the bands who have headlined V lately, Killers, Kasabain, Arctics, the Verve etc.

Plus they are a band that are not reycled, they will be a massive draw, young and old, my phone has been busy all morning with people who are now considering going to V for the first time.

God, you and you're 'laughing smilie' ... jeez!

Erm, just because 'your source' says that, it doesn' mean its true! Fuck me!

Saying they'll (sic) be a new album means nothing yet - does it mean they have it recorded? Or do they just have some studio time booked? Do they have any decent ideas for songs? Why mention festivals renowned for paying big bucks for headliners.

Its called discussion Neil, the clue is in the title.

 .... my comment was based on the fact that from your previous comment the new album bit had passed you by. Get over yourself, ffs.

And while it doesn't mean it's true because my sources have said it, if you knew who those sources were then you wouldn't be anywhere near as doubtful.

And while I've no idea whether or not they've recorded anything yet, I do know that they're excited to be working together again and feel they've got new material inside them.

Yes, it might be that huge wads of money has brought it about, but that doesn't take away from how they feel about it.

Most bands that reform (including the Roses) should have the self-respect and decency to recognise that they've had their day and that the dignified thing to do is to fade into history...apart from lining their pockets, what can they possibly do that is new, relevant or interesting? I can think of very few bands that have reformed and gone on to do anything that is more than a pale reflection fo their former glory....

I say this as someone who thinks the first Roses album is a stone classic

Dinosaur Jr. They've been fantastic in their reunion, the albums they've released have been really good, the shows mostly excellent, they've not forced themselves to continually work as a band, all doing some of their other stuff, but it's been brilliant.
