And finally, if he's got to struggle thru with the players in front of him, why would he want to leave Wigan? He can muddle thru with existing players at Wigan, he doesn't have to go to Liverpool to do that.

Why wouldn't he want to leave Wigan for Liverpool?!

he's got a 100% safe job at Wigan, which he wouldn't have at L'pool.

I can't see them taking Martinez and giving him 60-70 million to spend, it may happen, I just don't think that as Businessmen they could justify it without Champions League football guaranteed.

It would reduce the initial pressure on the new Manager as well, I think the signings as much as the overall performance has done Dalglish in

I can't see them giving him that much, but I can perhaps see them giving him £25M plus anything he gets from current player sales.

You just know the useless tits are going to go and win the whole damn thing now.

We're in effect Denmark or Greece this year!

I doubt it. But I defo wouldn't mind losing £50 on the bet if that's how it turned out.

There's two ways this is going to go. We're either going to bring in a top class DofF like Txiki Begiristain and a manager with promise (AVB even?) and I'll put my hands up and say well done. Or we do what we did when we sacked Rafa and hire someone really bad.

This is where we really see what FSG are made of.

For a country who used to produce a load of good keepers, the euro 2012 ones are by far the worst I have ever seen england pick. You know things are bed when you havent even heard of the standby. I know backup keeper isnt a glamarous job but other nations dont seem to have as many goalie retirements.

We haven't really had any good ones for about ten years until Hart. Was our weakness for a while. People should just be glad we've got one now as that is really all you need for a tournament.

Foster and Ruddy were both on loan at wrexham, foster was amazing, ruddy was average. Fosters retirement us confusing, he is not even 30 and its not like he has much competition for 2nd choice. I found this quote on wikipedia " He intended to "prolong [his] club career for as long as possible" by allowing his body "a proper rest period between games" to reduce "niggling" injuries.

Sounds like a bullshit excuse to me.

Its got to be a bit shit when you know you have no real chance of playing unless of a sending of or injury and how many times does a goalie get injured.

At least with another position alot of its tactical, fresh pair of legs and usually 2 positions you can be bought on for.

All looks good to be fair

rooney suspended for first 2 games

carrol can hardly get in liverpool side

defoe cant get in spurs side

Wellbeck unproven and in and out of united side and injured.

I remember when we had quality strikers like owen, fowler, cole, sheringham, shearer, ferdinand.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
