Is this the one from a few months back where Signori got nailed? More match fixing stuff?

Edit - Just googled it - 12 Serie A sides, representing more than half the division's 20 teams, could be implicated. About 75 matches since 2009 are now being investigated and at the end of all this we could see around 50 players sent for criminal trial.

Heres more madness from Italy.

Fiorentina last night. Adem Ljajic wasn't happy about being subbed in the first half so manager Delio Rossi gave him a proper beat down.

Daniel Day Lewis in there Will Be Blood stuff. "I am the third revelation. I am who the Lord has chosen Eli!!"

Rossi got the sack for it.

Liverpool have just announced a loss of £50m for the year. A lot of it exceptional, Hogdson, new stadium plans, backroo staff etc.

Not sure if they'll give Daglish any more money in the summer though?

I believe there's pretty strong rumours Liverpool had a £10m bid knocked back for Jelavic in August. For what ever reason they decided not to match Evertons bid in Jan. I was wondering if it was because they didn't rate him anymore of if the money had dried up.

Perhaps they already have someone lined up for the summer

perhaps Jelavic will want to join the big team across the park in the summer...? :P

Can see dempsey at cl club next season, perhaps even united.

Why would he go to liverpool? Wouldnt that just be a sideways move to another mid table club with no chance of league success?

Same reason any player moves club, money and European football (even if it is Europa). That and possibility of investment.

The weirder ones are the stronger Everton rumours. He's favourite to sign for them! No European football, skint club etc. Makes no sense. Fulham are in a stronger position.

Weren't Everton potless when they got Jelavic, with Kenwright having to do the street corner job? Considering Rangers had pretty much thrown in the towel then as well, it must have meant Liverpool weren't in a great financial position at the point.

When you say "it must mean", you mean actually "it could possibly mean but probably doesn't". Being slightly interested but not valuing somebody at a certain price doesn't mean we didn't have the money. We were wrong not to buy him for £6m in hindsight, but then anyone from the Scottish league is a gamble. We were more interested in Teixera from that Dutch club but we didn't get that right. We made errors in January for sure but a lot of that was probably us being overly weary of not overspending after the complete mess of the summer window.

We had the Meireles £12m or whatever it is to spend. We just failed/chose not to spend it.

Pretty sure Dempsey will go to a CL club, he's always spoke of how he wants to play in the tournament and at his age I doubt he'll wait around at anyone else. Obviously needs an offer from one but I think Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs could all fit him. He's never been opposed to moving abroad either so could easily end up at PSG or something... would be a good pay day for Fulham if someone like that come in so heres hoping lol.

I wouldn't write Spurs off either if they get CL... depends if they've got the money to buy him and another striker though. Or if they can get Adebayor for another year.

    • Good catch this. Used on the Main stage on Saturday like a really cheap alternative.   Cracking little day though. A few Belgian acts to start the day (Atomic Orchestra, Kids with Buns, Selah Sue), some UK/IE midsized bands to end the afternoon (Gurriers, Wunderhorse, Wet Leg) and then an evening of Deftones, Florence and Underworld.   Can’t wait to be there and (at least try to) make the most of it.
    • I would be surprised if they don't, given 2022 was the twentieth I imagine next year is going to be pushed as the 25th anniversary so having the most local big name artist possible headline seems natural. Maybe SFA are being saved for then too?
    • I’d be incredibly surprised if she was in the headline conversation at all. At best I could say a high Pyramid slot but I reckon maybe Other headliner against a rock act like Fender or even Other sub (where I have her in my predictions). I’d say Gracie Abrams is pulling similar if not better numbers to Tate and she was third down on the Other last year.
    • I dont think headliner. Other stage maybe
    • Sophie Williams (journalist and Mercury Prize judge) was on Huw Stephens' roundtable last week, said she'd love to see Overmono headline Green Man. Does feel like it's bound to happen. 2027 is surely on the cards seeing as they're about to release a new album
