Yup, and given they had apparantly almost got him last time, it's easy to see why and the purple rain relation sticks out a lot.

I even think it's possible given the comment that Mick knows Prince is the on-standby if they say know.

obviously it's all guess work.

I know it doesn't really matter now, but Fleetwood Mac's UK dates are as follows:

LONDON THE 02

TUESDAY, 24 SEPTEMBER

BIRMINGHAM LG ARENA

SUNDAY, 29 SEPTEMBER

MANCHESTER MEN ARENA

TUESDAY, 01 OCTOBER

GLASGOW HYDRO ARENA

THURSDAY, 03 OCTOBER

So I suppose Bestival is possible, though I imagine they'll be somewhere else at the time!

rob da bank said no to this yesterday, fleetwood mac aren't doing any uk festivals.

So he's clearly got no idea.

BTW - the Prince thing. Seriously? Thinking Jagger was giving us cryptic clues to Prince playing is the funniest thing I've seen on here since someone on the TITP Forum said Springsteen would play the second stage there.

Anyone who thought that has gone through the looking glass and needs to have a sit down and a think about things

You know what alot of people on here are like, Eavis could say, "there's loads of flowers in our field", and people would be certain he's confirming that the stone roses are playing.

Ok, am newly signed up, been viewing for around 2 years, reason I've made my first post is purely due to this that I found, a question and answer session which must be from 2007! Very similar to those comments from Jagger in NME!

Q: Every year theres a will they/wont they question over whether the Stones will play Glastonbury, but they never do. Can you ever see it happening? Would you like it to happen? Damian Tichborne, Bristol, England

A: I dont want to play Glastonbury on the Sunday night in the pouring rain, which is what The Who did this year. I was watching it on the telly, and my kids were there. Im on the phone saying its awful. They said its really fun, but it didnt look fun to me. Youve got to pick your slot.

A bit of a random one but about 2 or 3 years ago justin timberlake either asked to play or was asked to play i cant remeber which and with his new album out etc i wonder if this is possible?

just to be clear i dont actually want him to play but it could be a possibility, also standard friend of a friend etc told me that he had heard that the strokes were likely to play as was an ambition of theirs so what slot do we think that they would get...sub the pyramid or other stage headline seem most likely to me

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
