The problem is that I can't see the point in whether a band is 'good enough' to headline, or saying that someone shouldn't headline because their music is dull or ropey. Whether we personally like someone or not is completely subjective and bears absolutely no relevance to whether they get booked or not. Who is considered 'better' on these forums means absolutely nothing, what is relevant is the band's size in the wider world (a speculative mix of gig sales, record sales, festival history, other festival slots, etc.) and I can't see how either Arctic Monkeys or Kasabian could be considered not big enough.

People doubting arctic monkeys 'appeal' is a bit stupid. They're a much bigger band than kasbian, and stronger all round with there 'back catalouge'. Live they're the best they've ever been. R U Mine? Brought on a massive pull of hype, not that twitters anything to go by, but it trended for days and some of my mates who arent that into them loved it. I think arctic monkeys would be a great booking. One of the biggest and best bands around who haven't disappointed me yet.

I was there and i agree entirely.

I'd take kasabian over AM personally but i think their (kasabian's) biggest problem is their lead singer. They have good songs across all their albums and have progressed musically throughout but he hasn't and that's why they're still a lads band. He can't really sing, which is fine for anthems the crowd singalong to but they don't have a full set of them. The 'Come on glastonbury' (or wherever) every five minutes irritates me somewhat too - all of this is probably only annoying because i've seen them so many times.

    • Based on previous times that rules quite a lot out of early summer festivals into the August runs.
    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
