All of this is clash dependent for me. Jimmy Cliff not to clash with elbow, Go! Team not to clash with Paul Simon, and would definitely like to see Kool and the gang but it depends what else is going on on that night.

I also love Janelle, seen her a few times before so not too desperate to catch her this time, but surely a Janelle/Big Boi collaboration for a song or 2 is on the cards?

Even I'm impressed by this and I don't know much about West Holts type music. Bit confused by some of the bands playing on it. I'm hoping Chase and Status play elsewhere - maybe another Arcadia set as missed it last year. So much good stuff there but I know clashes will rule a lot out. It has set the bar high for the rest of the festival that's for sure! (Will try to keep expectations low though so not disappointed :) )

I've been listening away all day since the announcement for potential viewing in June and I have to say I'm really looking forward to Nicolas Jaar into Brandt Brauer Frick.

I've discovered about 5 new artists today that I'm genuinely excited about watching. Love West Holts.

Can;t wait to see Go! Team, saw them recently and they were brilliant fun. Tempted by Big Boi, but I imagine I would be on my own so will probably end up at Chemical Brothers. Love chilling by the Jazz Stage so will probably catch a few of these acts anyway, will try and get there for Little Dragon if I can

Just been listening to some Dengue Fever on Spotify. It makes me angry.

Angry that all music can't be that freaking cool. The first 10 seconds of Tiger Phone Card are amazing. Thankfully the rest follows suit.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to them. I take your point about it being difficult to find a suitable stage for them. Like you say, I think the consensus is they'll probably make two appearances. Still a strange slot :P Perhaps it means that the Dance Village will be crammed with other big names.

Chase & Status shouldn't be that surprising as a booking. They've made some killer tunes and drum n' bass, dubstep etc fit perfectly well with the ethos of the stage. Electronic music has always been a mainstay of Jazz World / West Holts. I know they're very different but the band that have played that stage more than any other, with at least half a dozen performances, are Lamb.

Unlike quite a few acts in this broad field, Chase & Status know how to put on a really great live show. A big stage needs more than a couple of successful bedroom producers hunched over a laptop. This band feature perhaps the best drummer in the UK with Andy Gangadeen (Massive Attack, the Bays etc. They can also draw on an amazing selection of guest vocalists from Dizzy Rascal and Plan B to, of course, Cee-Lo Green. Probably no accident that the latter is playing straight after.

Finally West Holts generally attracts a slightly older, more muso crowd than the other main stages. If Chase & Status pull 20,000 kids who wouldn't normally venture there then maybe some of them will be persuaded to check out some of the more mind expanding acts such as Gonjasufi or the Heliocentrics with Mulatu.

Hidden Orchestra deserve a mention, great ep they put together. Kicking of Sunday morning, ohh how I wish I had a ticket now I see just 1 stage line up!

    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
