Christ this has made me slightly concerned that The National might win a Brit tomorrow. They're up against the cast of Glee and Justin Beiber. Mental.

And yeah I love how he just sticks the trophy on the amp. Kanye west's gone up in my estimation after that tweet and all.

Yep I loved waking up to that tweet.

The Brit award for 'breakthrough act' is ridiculous. Though the National made their feelings about it fairly clear. I think AF might win at one of the two Brits not least because I think they're turning up at the ceremony which often seems to coincide with an international act winning.

They're playing in Berlin tomorrow thank the lord so no chane of them being there, but yeah someone really should have told the judges that five albums into a career us a bit late to nominate an act for a breakthrough award.

I hope Arcade Fire do win though. Not quite as belle & sebastian and elbow but not far off.

There was something like 40000 tickets in the resale last year. If even 5% of that number buy Glastonbury tickets instead of tickets for an AF gig it's a disaster. If Arcade Fire are playing (and remember Neil said it's somewhere between R and SR and there is evidence for and against) it won't be announced until after the resale

It's great how they've managed to get so much success without going shit like most bands seem to.

In fact their wave of mainstream success has come on the back of an awesome album in which they actually returned to the Funeral formula.

I think the point Megabowl is making is that if AF gave even the slightest hinted confirmation of Glastonbury then people wouldn't buy HP tickets in the hope of getting one in the resale.

I think the Grammy may have screwed my plan to wait until the lineup gets announced before deciding whether to go to Hyde Park.

Clutching at straws somewhat but check out this answer from Emily Eavis;

Will more line-up details be released soon?

Yes. We hope to give you some more names soon - as soon as we can, in fact. We would love to tell you everything right now if we could, but many stages aren't quite finished and many bands are announcing tours or big gigs first. We are working on getting it out there before very long though, so thanks for your patience and please bear with us.

They just tore the Brits a new one. Incredible. Utterly incredible. I feel so honoured to have seen them with my favourite band of all time last year. They're something utterly special. It's worth seeing acts like themselves and Laura Marling struggle to build their name when they go on to sell out Hyde Park and finally get recognition.

    • good move - got to start saying No to these prices or nothing will change
    • Are there any shaded areas to take a break from the strong sun? Yes, i think there is some.    Theres loads of trees on the island where you can find shade… They have already erected a few domes in the Island but whether they will be cooler or green houses is as yet unknown 🙃…..weather forecast isn’t too hot currently….im more worried its gonna rain at this moment.
    • I Paid £30 for the lightning Seeds a year or so ago (who i beleive are the support act).  so. the value for money on this is incredible
    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
