Billy Connolly

Never the biggest fan but I saw him a few years back and he was very good. He has no famous "bits" really, not as many as some American stand ups anyway, but as a storyteller hes fantastic. Just sit back and go with it. Hes one of the very few non American stand ups I actually like. And if theres only one famous stand up to play, let it be him or we could get stung with that unimaginable twat Jimmy Carr. Or Lee Evans!! Urrgghh.

Lee Evans. Dear oh dear.

Billy Connolly would be great, as someone's already mentioned, more a storyteller than anything so I think he'd fit the Glastonbury vibe well.

For those that haven't heard of him, Louis C K is an excellent stand up comedian, he'd be an amazing addition, nothing like Connolly and probably a lot more accessible for people.

But anyway, the finest comedian currently working is Daniel Kitson, and unfortunately I can't see him playing Glastonbury, which is a real pisser.

Does that make me a snob or do you really honestly truly think Dan Brown is the same as Nabakov, that Carling is the same as a speciality beer from a microbrewery or that lady Gaga is as good as Joni Mitchell and there's no difference between any of these things? If so, what a grey, f**king tedious world that is, I want a bit of colour, good stuff and shit, darkness and light. Is that snobbery? Really? Seems a strange thing to accuse somebody of, not liking shite.

I think the slightly odd but admittedly gifted Billy lost his edge when he made jokes about that hostage that was about to get his head chopped off. I've never liked his comedy that much, always thought he was a bit up his own arse, and after that strange episode I've been totally put off ever since. Very strange guy.
