how have K.O.L become 'boring' ???? their music is what it is. some on here who are slating it obviously must have feckin bought the new album because they are a fan of them? then suddenly they are 'corporate sellouts'(i laughed at that one)AND ITS 'SOULESS'... all u2's music is the same and they have made one good album in the past 90 yrs. all radioheads music is pretty much the same but millions love them. to say that K.O.L have sold out or become boring is utterly ridiculous... some of you sound like spoilt american teenegers

Give them their dues, they've never been shy in recording music and getting albums out there.... not for them a 2 year break after touring an album. I don't think its a case of capitalising on OBTN as they've always been like that. They're forever touring as well. Hard working fellas!!

They don't seem to be evolving though, it is pretty much more of the same. I think songs like Milk, Knocked Up, Charmer all give hints that they could take their music somewhere else, whether a folky or more experimental route. They do seem to stick to their meat and potatoes though.

They're now the equivalent of Jordan, Peter Andre, Jedward and Girls Aloud by having an ITV2 show dedicated to them. It was awful.... Dave Berry man, what a twat!

It's brilliant on another listen, or maybe i'm not to all your taste, also whoever compared them to The Eagles is doing them a service, The Eagles are a great band.

Although Radioactive is a dreadful video. I still think Only By The Night was unfairly knocked, yes it was overplayed way too much, but there's no argument that songs like Manhattan, Closer are well acomplished. Even Crawl has a certain classic sound of KOL so I disagree with the sell out notion.

After a few listens I think the album is a bit patchy but with some good songs (I quite like Radioactive, Pyro, Beach Side, and pick up truck at the moment)

It is similar to Only By the Night in this respect and charts a gradual decline in the quality of their output.

Shame really cos most of their early stuff (on their first three albums) was brilliant.

HAHA. If you can honestly listen to something like Molly's Chambers or McFearless and tell me The End isn't boring compared to that, I think you need your ears cleaned out.

I can't listen to a song if the lyrics are rubbish

There are loads of songs where the lyrics might not be perticularly important, but when they're verging on gibberish, I switch off

If you've just got into them folowing the commercial success of Only By The Night, you aint gonna like this album. If you like KOL and their previous albums, you're gonna find this one a grower. I love KOL and after a good few listens, i absolutely love this album.

The thing I liked about the first and the second album is the southern boogie sound that was kicked up the ass with a more contemporary feel. Take Trani, for example. The opening part sounds just like something Duane Allman would rock out to. Lovely.

And then by the third album that had all but gone.

That is what I want. Will I get it on the new album, or not?

I don't think KOL have 'sold out' in anyway, they have just got older. Peoples musical tastes quite often change as they get older and I would assume the music someone would write would also do so.

Any band that goes for more than a couple of years will change. YAYM was full of the vigour of youth and as they have matured they have perhaps lost that energy. I don't think they have made a conscious decision to become 'stadium rock' - they have just got older. It happens to us all.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
