As I've said - saw them last night.

- Sound was better, was REALLY loud

- Show ran like clockwork with barely noticable changes between performers

- Band played better, not only relaxed but really enjoying the show

- Damon played the "Master of ceremonies" role brilliantly even including some illadvised stagediving

- No musical diversions (Arabic band / tribute to Hopper / preachy environmental track)

- They played 19/2000 & Demon Days, the latter with Bobby Womack

- Crowd familiarity with the new stuff

However,

I have to stand up for the show at Glasto. The list of performers on that stage was incredible - and for me"Clint Eastwood" with Snoop was the exhilarating highlight of the entire festival. Last night didnt reach that height - but it was a far more enjoyable and polished show.

im going to the Manchester show tonight, and the MEN Arena website says it's doors open at 6, show over at 10.45.

can anyone who has seen this tour tell me if there's any support, or what time Gorillaz come on stage, as i can't get there for 6, it'll probably be more like 8.

ta.

Lou Reed, Mark E. Smith, Snoop Dogg, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Damon Albarn. All those amazing guests and you greedy buggers still wanted more from their headline performance!

Next year your getting Take That and I'll hear no f**king moaning about it this time.

thoroughly enjoyed myself last night at the Manchester gig. good show, and had a laugh with all those around us (even posing for photos in my Shangri-La t shirt!?! yes, drink had been taken).

and, my word, how cool are Jones and Simonon prowling around that stage, pointing guitars like machine guns at members of the audience.

    • Same as how reform have helped to fill up the prisons and then object to the govt trying to fix things (as long as the farage rioters don't get early release).
    • for some reason I put myself through the torture of another Harlen Coben thing on Netflix, this time "Caught".   at the end of it my only emotion was I hated the main character who was supposed to be the hero.   it was her fault that two people got killed, she walks around like the FBI when she just writes a bunch of crap for an internet blog, she takes no responsibility for her actions and for some bizarre reason nobody around her holds her to account.   at the end we are meant to think she is the hero of her righteous quest - but in reality she should be in prison awaiting trial on numerous charges.   still, in the end I got exactly what I expected from Harlen Coben so I guess I have no right to moan... I'm sat here typing this whilst he is sat in his swimming pool filled with cash...     I've come to think that all these Coben adaptations are in fact all the same program, and AI just pastes different faces on the characters for each "story".   🙂
