Really randomly, the thing that stays with me is Snow Patrol (who I don't even like that much). I think it was in '04 (?) - just after Spittng Games had made the big time. They had a mid afternoon slot at the Other Stage, and about three or four songs in they played 'Run'. When they got to the first chrous, the crowd was singing so loudly and passionately that Gary Lightbody just broke down, to the extent that the other band members had to take over the vocals. It was really incredible watching an artist so moved by the response of the crowd, that it made me burst into tears as well. Awesome stuff. There is something about Glasto that makes me so aware of my own humanity and reminds me of everything that is good about the world.

Sitting at the back of The Other Stage last year watching Bon Iver with my best friend, we were sat on a blanket eating chips and drinking cider.

Standing at The Other Stage all day to get on the barrier for Yeah Yeah Yeahs and talking to a girl from Brazil who'd came over to see them and Blur.

Seeing Damon Alburn cry during The Universal.

Discovering The Park for the first time and sitting in the glass house eating tea and toast.

Watching Animal Collective from the glass house.

Standing infront of the huge canvas by the John Peel for the first time and reading all of the quotes etc.

Going to the jamming tent in The Park with my friend Joe in 09 and him playing the piano.

Dancing around to trance songs infront of the rhythm and juice tent at 10am this year.

Welling up with tears of happiness during The Flaming Lips doing Do You Realize?? this year, I was in a slightly rubbish mood cos my friend got insanely drunk and I had to compose her and look after her and she was being a dick, but she fell asleep on the grass and their entire set just made me overly happy.

Also before the 'Lips came on, we got speaking to this girl called Lizzie and her friend Flid who were AWESOME. We drank gin and spoke of Elliott Smith. They were lovely.

Walking by The Other Stage wearing a My Bloody Valentine shirt and having some guy sprint over to me and hug me and tell me he loved my shirt and beard. I love people like this.

That really made me smile :) I'm a Glasgovirgin and that has got me so excited...Thanks :)

Think its was 2004 - awesome weather and me and a bunch of mates were chilling out quite high up the pyramid field, having a drink and smoke and listening to Groove Armada in the background. They dropped the bass line in Suntoucher and we just sat and stared as the whole field went mental bouncing :)

Going off on my own and being invited for a breakfast of bread & kippers with some travellers around what seemed like King Arthurs Round table.

Spending most of a day sharing rum and spliffs with a beautiful random starnger, and casually letting him walk away just before the headliners when he wanted to see one thing, and I was headed somewhere else. Regretted it in the immediate moment, but now it is a perfect memory rather than potentially turning into a regrettable random shag!

Going along to see Robbie Williams just for the laugh of seeing him bottled off, only to have an incredibly emotional singalong to Angels - that vid on youtube makes me cry to this day - and for all the right reasons!

Watching The Happy Mondays with my friend on the Sunday, having been wrecked for 5 days solid, and thinking they were the best thing we'd ever seen, only to find out after we got home that they'd been a complete shambles but we were too out of it to know!

Dancing with my brother's miserable (now ex) girlfriend on the edge of the jazz field to Luciano - "Your world and mine" - and everyone smiling at us as they passed - eventually forcing her to raise her first smile in 3 days! (It had been very muddy -97)

Loving the Marley Brothers so much that I cried most of the way through it, and a young couple coming up to me at the end and saying they wanted to hug me because i was so beautiful!

....telling our tent neighbours the above when i got back and them asking me if I knew what they had taken!

Damon asking if we could see the moon and us all saying yes because we knew we could, then him saying "Can you?", but by then we'd all looked up and realised it had gone behind a cloud and back came a sad "Nooo". Funny.

Coming up, right at the front of the Pyramid during Hey Boy Hey Girl in 2000 when I hadn't even taken anything to come up on!

Hugging my mum right through "I just called to say i love you" last year and singing it in her ear! I never thought I would get to show her Glastonbury, and she not only did it, but wants to do it again!

Randomly stumbling upon Emmy the great on Sunday lunch time - who i had heard of but vaguely thought might be an indie band, and just loving her so much that she mended my tiredness so i could enjoy the rest of the day.!

The twang being so excited to be at glastonbury that they forgot to sing and had to start again!

Meeting some of Madness in Shangrila and going with them to see The beat!

Wow always a difficult one to actually pin down but here it goes.

Hearing the big cheer going round the campsites on the Wednesday night in 2009. We hadn't been since 2003 as we'd missed out on the ticket lottery every year (2008 we were too skint after buying a house)hearing the cheer just made me feel like I was home again!

Neil Young's set but in particular Needle and the Damage Done and the amazing finish to Rocking in the Free World.

Bumping into one of my best mates from school in 2009 who I hadn't seen in 10 years.

Tender by Blur

Actually arriving on site without breaking down last year (We have an old VW camper and I was panicking about breaking down all the way down from Leeds)

The Growler

Le Grande Bouffe, in fact all of the food.

The Stone Circle on a Wednesday night

Waterloo Sunset by Ray Davies last year, magical sing-a-long

Stevie's keytar last year, brilliant

Seeing The Flaming Lips for the first time in 2003 when I'd never heard of them or had any idea what to expect, it goes without saying they absolutely blew me away.

First Glasto last year, so all of it.

Of particular note, in the Park Bar, possibly on the Thursday, can't really remember but it was absolutely rammed. Small ginger Glaswegian girl is aggressively, unashamedly and unapologetically skipped/pushed her way to the front and ordered something on the region of 18 pints. While she had been doing this I had bonded with the guy next to me taking the piss out of her and generally having a light hearted moan about her.

As she ordered her 18 pints my new friend shouts, "FFS Jimmie Krankie, thats well out of order." Cue everyone in the vicinity falling about laughing as her face starts to resemble a bulldog licking piss off a nettle. He then ordered my drinks for me.

Really loved the random interaction with a stranger and how generally good natured his reaction was to an annoying situation. Glasto really brings out the best in people. B)

Stop it this thread has me in emotional girlie excited tears

- Blur singing Tender

- Sitting having my face painted in the sunshine a in 2009 feeling I was totally at home

- A little girl on the railway track tugging at her Mums skirt, staring at me pointing and shouting fairy .... I knelt down and gave her a huge fairy cuddle. Her eyes were as wide as can be - As I walked off she was still staring and I blew her a kiss- still brightens my day now

- Running up to a random stranger and giving her a cuddle... she had a t-shirt on that said 'It's my birthday give me a hug' so I did- except I must have been the first person to do it - she couldn;t stop laughing

- laying in hammocks on the Tursday night at the top of the park where the bonfires are and feeling totally contented

- Watchin Gaslight Anteh, in JP tent when Bruce made an appearance

Must stop now else I'll go on all night

for me it has to be:

- watching my mate wee on his mum after too much cider at the brothers bar.

- wednesday night smoke sessions up at the stone circle after dark.

- stumbling upon chai wallahs randomly in 2008.

- the edge and muse.

- rolf harris this year

- the heat oh god the heat.

Good lord far too many good memories......The Ultimate one would be the first one I remember, 8 years old wide eyed and amazed the first time I saw the place. I remember thinking that nothing, ever could possibly be that big and be real. Then I was introduced to 'hippy' food, my mam's real cider (only a few sips mind! lol) staying up late and dancing at the back of the Pyramid field, listening to randomers singing while I lay in my tent, being ENCOURAGED to get muddy and talk to people and then my mam explaining on the sunday afternoon that it all disappears until next year. I can't really sum it up other than I head back to that 8 year old every damn year :)

More recent memories: Chai tea, hot stone massages, bubbles, Bootleg Beatles, Seasick Steve, Biggles Wartime Band, Falling in and out of love over the space of two days, Muse and the Edge, Chemichal Brothers dropping a hell of a beat, laughing far too much, happy crying when I got lost in Shangri La when wrecked and found new friends to dance with, dancing with a Wolverine, pretending to carry out an Archaeological Investigation at Cube Henge and shouting about the stones being wrong to the amusement of my companions.

I love that place :)

- The first walk around the site, getting from one end to the other and somehow thinking we'd been through most of it, then spending the rest of the week finding new places and exploring, finding amazing new things hidden away in corners and nooks of crannies of each field.

- The first pint of hot & spicy mulled cider from the Somerset Cider Bus

- Neil Young's incredible version of Rockin' In The Free World (which was at the time far from my favourite of his)

- Walking up to the stone circle for the first time, turning around and losing the ability to speak from the view of the festival site lit up below.

- Blur's performance in '09 from start to finish.

- My mate getting down to his last pair of jeans, turning around, saying he'll have to look after them to get on the coach on the Monday then promptly slipping and falling in a puddle of mud.

- The feeling of vague familiarity on arriving this year, walking around the haunts from '09 with a huge cheesy smile on my face which wouldn't disappear.

- Chatting to some awesome guys before The Flaming Lips, drinking a worrying amount of their cider, and halfway through Do You Realise??? realising that I was greeting like a bairn with happiness.

- Chatting to some bloke after the Lightning Seeds at Avalon this year about Mumford & Sons and birdwatching.

- Billy Bragg's singalong to A New England

- Leaving my mates so they could go and see Stevie, I could see Levellers, walking around the site with the sun setting, pint of Pilton Pop in hand, watching so many happy people walking around, absolutely content with a mix of Alabama 3 and LCD Soundsystem playing in the background.

There's probably countless others, but they spring to mind at the moment.

Some random guy called Tony talking to me in 08 and saying how he managed to get in for free by pretending he was in a band by using some random guitar cases he found.

The Thursday of 2009 watching these random african dancers and thinking that whilst all my mates back home were getting ready for some shitty little prom I was at Glastonbury experiencing something amazing like that.

The Flaming Lips this year. Talk about a religius experience.

In 09 discovering the delights of the Circus Feilds and spending more time there than watching bands (completely ignored it was there in 08)

This year again- Arriving on the wednesday for the first time and having an extra day to just chill.

So many memories to list- these are only a few!!
