It's a beautiful morning here in Shepton Mallet. The sun is shining and there's not even a slight breeze. Just watch those puddles dry up!!

latest GFS run is out - 00Z

It not as good as yesterdays runs but is an outlier for the amount of wetness on 23rd and pressure wise is in the minority with not too many of the other models agreeing with it for the start of the big G. Alot of models appear to be keen to have presssure at around 1020mb for wednesday

The EURO model for 00z is not out yet but tends to be more accurtae that the americano GFS

So still reasons to be positive I would say, the rollercoaster goes on !

JackOne: On today runs, It is close between a 4 or 5, overall I will go for 5.5 as it is looking mostly dry after the Wednesday, but if it is wet in the build up to the festival, and on the Wednesday, will this mean wet and muddy conditions, even if it remains dry thereafter.

GFS: Rain this Friday then mostly dry in the run up except next Tuesday. Showers over the festival, but nothing heavy. All to play for..

TWO: Rain this Friday. No other serious rain in the run up. Dry festival.

Dutch: Showers untilFriday (that's as far as it goes)

Meteo: Rain this Saturday morning and Tuesday. Showers on Wednesday, otherwise dry.

PositiveWeather Solutions: No update.

GFS Ensemble: Rain this Fri/Sat and next Tuesday, then the majority of models have it dry. The Operational is the only one having substantial rain over the festival.

Met Office: Rain on Saturday and then risk of showers.

ECM: Same pattern of heavy rain Fri/Sat followed by showers, but dry for festival (only goes to the Friday, but there's a high building)

Norwegians: Fri/Sat this week have rain. Showers until Thursday next week (that's as far as it goes)

Normal caveats apply:

1) I know a bit about weather, not a lot about weather

2) You can't predict the weather with any accuracy for more than three days

3) Based on Point 1, Point 2 might be incorrect

The models are starting to converge.

Don't worry if it chucks it down on Fri/Sat this week. That's looking pretty likely. Then we are likely to see showers, but nothing more and with sun and cloud, so we could be looking at 2008 scenario.

The test will be whether the drainage can cope with this weekend's rain.

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
