We have the best strike partnership in the country. Two of the young lads just behind them rejected firm offers from Liverpool and Man City respectively in the summer to sign professional contracts here (that's not paper-talk, that's directly from the mouth of Malky Mackay). Danny Graham has said in no uncertain terms that he thinks it would be bad for his career to leave before getting a full season of good form on the board. So thank goodness we've signed another striker!

In other news, Clarke Carlisle has been booked to do Question Time.

Been listening to a discussion on financial fairplay. What is everyones opinion on this ruling. After hearing both sides, I am personally against. It seems to me its a way of the top clubs strengthening their position while pretending to be looking after the best interest of the game. Why is man utd loading the club with debt more fair than man city with a benefactor happ to write of losses. If they want true financial fair play why not introduce a salary cap!

Clubs cash in on important players for one reason - the cash.

Bent is extremely likely to have been sold by the club and not by Bruce (just as Jones was being touted for sale by the club against Bruce's wishes).

If Bruce leaves it'll be because he's pissed off at being undermined, and not because he's sacked.

What do you think about Jay Bothroyd possibly being the man to come in and replace Bent, worm?

At 28, he's been around and there seems to be a lot of interest in him, has experience and is in form, plus out of contract in the summer so wouldn't command a huge fee, thus Sunderland being able to invest in other areas. Could be the best signing out there for Sunderland to be honest

just reading the Beeb's footie gossip, and one of the stories there says Bruce is going for Michael Owen.

And another says Ricardo Fuller, Wigan's Hugo Rodallega or Birmingham's Kevin Phillips.

Things aren't looking for good for Joe Cole, he was shoved into the Lancashire Senior Cup squad which is mostly made up of youth players not good enough for the reserve team.

perhaps TGT will now start to wonder if I was right when I said that Cole appears to have lost it.

Oh and on the commentary last night, I realise that they'll get behind the underdogs but it got sickening at times - "The White Machine" indeed

I thought it was funny that, even after they'd said that Johnson had scored another 25 yarder at the weekend just gone, that the 25 yarder he scored last night was "a goal of a lifetime".

It certainly was a cracker tho.

Why?

cos Cole is now only getting a run-out with Liverpool's reserves of the reserves of the reserves - that's how 'good' he's playing.

Go on - keep hoping that West Ham sign him. They'll be the most popular club in Liverpool if they do.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
