It's not as if he's playing like Messi at the moment and I think it's more to do with Grant wanting him than Liverpool not wanting him (even with his huge wages and not even playing). The article said something about Cole leaving a thank you for your time message on his voice mail when he left Chelsea.

"Wayne Bridge was an excellent signing, and now Grant wants to improve the attack by bringing in Joe Cole from Liverpool."

I can't work out if that's meant to be serious or not. I'm reading it as the best joke of the day, given Bridge's début on Saturday.:lol::lol:

was he the one that fell asleep when walcott waltzed in for the second? was a good finish from walcott but utter joke that he got the chance.

Bridge got the direct blame for all Arsenal's goals on Saturday, from all directions.

That Walcott goal was very un-Walcott, wasn't it? I don't really expect him to be poaching goals like that.

As you say, it was a good finish but he shouldn't have got in front of the defender (who I presume was Bridge, but can't be sure now).

It was 'only' WHU they were playing, but Walcott had another good'un - set up one, scored another, and won the penalty for the 3rd. The word 'inconsistent' is being heard less and less.

One bad game, when he's not match fit means Bridge is a bad signing?

Larsson had a shocking debut for Celtic...

...Celtic fans think Larsson was a shit signing don't they?

N.B. I'm not suggesting for a second that Bridge will be an excellent signing, but writing him off after less than one game is foolhardy.

You think Joe Cole wouldn't be an improvement on Spector/Kovac/Boa Morte in the attacking midfield role? With Parker, Hitzelsperger, and Noble out for all or large parts of the season, all three of those named have played there.

I thought you needed blood & guts players in there, and not flowers?

Out of curiosity when was the last time you watched Joe Cole play in central midfield?

Probably about the same time as you were raving about him being one of the best attacking central midfielders in the world, who'd show his class if given the chance to play there.:lol::lol::lol:

Whether or not he'll be worth having remains to be seen. In theory he should be, but after that shocker on Saturday I'm now far from sure.

But anyway, I didn't say he was a bad signing. I merely pointed out that a statement saying "Wayne Bridge was an excellent signing" is laughable at this moment in time.

Bent to Villa for 24 million in an exchange deal of 30 million and Emile Heskey.

Bent to Sheffield Utd on loan is a far more accurate story. And it's 100% true - tho Marcus, not Darren. :D

But where the f**k have you got those made up numbers? For a start, that must be valuing Heskey at £6M.:lol::lol:

The deal is being reported everywhere as £18, plus *UP TO* another £6M, dependent on factors (factors that don't normally return the stated extra money).

Why do you think that???

perthaps because the three [players you say are out and you're missing are all those types of players, while Cole isn't?

Right, so not for about 2 months then.

corrected for you. Wjhere have you been?

PS: he very quickly proved himself as shit in central midfield.

And you think he'd be worse in that role than Kovac, Spector, or Boa Morte? Glad we've cleared that up...

For WHU as they are right now, yes I do.

Surely you don't want yet another player who's not up for a relegation fight?

Still think the notion that Tevez is a better player than Rooney is a ridiculous one?!

I'm not sure that I've ever said anything like that, but I accept that I might have. Are you sure it was me, and not someone else?

But if Tevez is the better player, what does it say for Fergie as a manager, as he made Rooney look the better of the two?

So you actually are judging a player after less than 90 minutes.

Oh do f**k off.

I'm judging that statement which says "Wayne Bridge was an excellent signing" made after less than 90 minutes as ridiculous.

As you've so rightly pointed out, 90 minutes is too short a time to make a judgement on a player of his (overall) calibre - but if there was to be a judgement after those 90 minutes, then "excellent" isn't the word that anyone should be using given the performance.

    • made a last minute decision to go to Belladrum festival.   it was absolutely wonderful.   never been before, to be honest I think I was expecting a stage in a field and a burger van, but its nothing at all like that.   the site is beautiful, its small enough to get around, but big enough that there are things to discover round each corner, there are a good number of small stages tucked away.   you could quite easily convince yourself you were in Glastonbury in places.   I may have only been one time, but already learned a valuable lesson - the site itself may be Glastonbury like, but the "general camping" campsite is very much Reading like! as the morning mist rises... its a view like the Do Lung Bridge scene in Apocalypse Now...   so if you are not 15 years old, go to family or quiet camping which is fantastic.   its a real family friendly festival to - loads of families and kids of all ages running round and stuff for them to do.   I would 100% recommend it, and I really can't see any reason why I wont be going back next year!   🙂
