PS: the press release issued *AFTER* the festival claimed it was sold out.... that's far more likely to be PR guff than any truthful statement, as press offices put out guff like that on a regular basis.

Weekend & day tickets were still on sale online from official outlets on the day the festival started.

thats what i was saying earlier, gnr also being so unreliable, arcade fire could be the gnr backup rather than the libertines backup... anyone read what i said and think its a bit far fetched?

word I've had says very definitely that AF are one of the three headliners, as are GnR & Blink.

actually doesnt suprise me - they made it out that it was all totally sold out - that Andy Copping is constantly full of guff.

Thinking with this 'theyres gona be loads of pleasant surprises this year - what about Soundgarden? yeah it was ruled out and that they wont be here till 2011 - but wont Pearl Jam be finished touring over here with Matt Cameron by then - so all 4 of them will be finally free to play? would be a nice suprise as NME promised

Soundgarden are in the efests rumours. I can't remember exactly why now, but there was a reasonable basis for it, so it might be happening.

ok thanks, guess we will just have to wait and see to completely 100% confirm all the wild speculation as wild speculation. but i definitely wouldnt be betting against you :P

not looking like a bad lineup though, especially if we are in for some 'surprises' as previously mentioned.

Cos everything has been kept so tightly this year I'm starting to doubt my sources when I really don't have reason to ... if they are wrong, it can only think that'll the result of a very elaborate set-up, which seems far too unlikely.

In fairness Im an Arcade Fire fan and would have had them as second/third from top on main stage or possibly headlining NME tent, as although they are critically acclaimed and have a following, most people I speak to haven't really heard of them. :P

From all the information thats out and the fact that they are also headlining Oxygen and are doing minimal other festivals in Europe I would say that even outside Neils good knowledge and sources, there is enough outside information to suggest that he is correct.

BElting song for people who don't know them by the way, although think a lot of people will probably have heard Keep The Car Running but not know who it was by.

just trying to get this straight -

Mainstage Headliners

Blink -pretty much definate, with paramore underneath.

GnR - pretty likely, probably with MCR underneath.

The other day is likely to be either Arcade Fire or the Libertines top, maybe with the other 2nd and maybe with the other headlining the tent?

other than that there's a load of rumours.

Cool.

suits me - best set of headliners in ages IMO. kinda hoping I'll miss 2 of them as I'm hoping Rancid and NOFX headline the LU tent :P

YAY!

More drama in the headliners :P

I sorta hope Arcade Fire do headline tent, cause it would leave the headline slot open for someone I would prefer.

But I'm one person in 80,000, and you can't please anyone.

Im happy with GnR and The Libertines... VERY happy to be honest.

And well, if it does turn out Arcade Fire headline NME on Sunday and the third headliner is Eminem, it will just be amazing

Meh its only 4 days now. I can wait that long.

I'm getting bored with all this, I'm pretty sure Arcade Fire will headline the Main Stage and I'll be happy about it but if it's someone else then so be it.

I'd just really hope Arcade Fire wouldn't clash with GnR if they played the NME.
