Vive La Revolution indeed...

if anyone fancies Park Home for a mini version of Chez Triangle Rouge there'll be a wee group of Purple Dodecahedrons in the next field over.

We love the Triangle of Redness very much but we want our favourite view of the festival back after an absence of too many years :P

Bring on the Revolution.

You have to remember that every year is very different and unofficial Efest camps in Pennards evolve.

What fun and games happened the previous year can never be exactly repeated. Some years we have a mega party in Pennards, others it becomes a quieter affair...just as memorable but for different reasons.

02- 05 a varying size of unofficial Efest camp in Pennards going by various names...one particular year...I cant quite remember...rumoured to be visible from space there were that many Efesters in the area! :P

In 07...what was the spark in the brain of Lord Triangle that became Le Triangle Rouge...he/she held a court of less than 25 minions that year. But they all had an awesome time together. Camp Funk over in Kidney Mead actually ended up being the bigger of the unofficial Efest camps that year...200+ squeezed in but we did it :P

08 was brilliant, large, open, large gazebo for one and all to congregate under, warm (cos we had a fire drum courtesy of Cornflake I recall!), cosy, very friendly, a bit crazy but a lovely place to head back to. 150+ that year. Camp Funk shrunk to lower numbers cos so many wanted to give Pennards a go :P

09...fecking mental for some, memorable for all, still a lovely place to be but without a central fire it lost a certain edge and the tipi didnt sit well with everyone cos it only held 15 people and the doors stayed shut at times. Again 150+ people camped within the area.

10...who knows...satellite camps are and will be happening and memorable faces from last year will not necessarily be living there anymore...but of course everyone will visit at some point.

Whatever happens and where, remember it all remains unofficial. The 'Efest' campsites that spring up across the site are there to offer a place for boarders to have a focus, hopefully a fire, a camp where even though you might be a solo flyer you ARE amongst friends even if you have never seen our faces yet and a place for old and new friends to meet , banter, base ourselves and bimble away from and most importantly...future friendships and relationships to blossom!

If you build it they will come...

Bit of a predicament for me. I can get on the disabled campsite because my dad unfortunately has a heart complaint and in the past when i was a bit younger i've camped with my friend on there, as well as my dad, however i'm a bit older and a larger group of friends are coming. Also, it was more convenient to camp on the disabled campsite taking into account, 2008 was my first glasto, however whats the possibility of camping on here. I'm new to all the EFests camp but how would i go about looking into it.

Thanks

I won't be there as I'll be working and so on, but can i add a word of advice from an outsider?

Wandered over to pennards midday ish on the wednesday last year, looking to interview some folks for Worthy FM. Didn't fix anything up, but thought it would all be fairly obvious.

Pennards was full, so guessed it must have been set up already, but couldn't see any sign of it. Wandered to where it looked like being on the online map, looked slightly crazy asking random people if this was - "are you folks from the internet?" kinda thing. Had no joy.

So went and asked the campsite stewards and they said they didn't know either, but wished they did cos they'd had a good few lost people looking for it.

So, this year, how about a huge loads of red triangular flags or something, and someone head over and tell the yellow shirted campsite stewards where you folks are at. Maybe leave them an info leaflet or something, cos they change shifts at odd times.

Will be back this year to see if i can do the interview with folks this time!

i'm hoping for a space in park home this year. we intended to camp at triangle but the traffic chaos put paid to us getting there early enough. we ended up in dairy which was just a little too much of a walk last thing at night.

in short, i may join the dodecahedron crew. purple is my favourite colour anyway! :P

G1T...although its a great idea about informing the campsite stewards...CT is still and will always be unofficial. Pennards DOES get super full but there were plenty of red triangles flying at the campsite last year. It was just finding them in amongst the 10,000 other tents in the field. The Efests camp cannot be expected to be all singing and dancing although a lot of people for some reason think it should be.

It is very easy to get led into some false idea that the camp is easy to find because its lauded about so much on the boards but as Lord Triangle clearly states on the group page, its up to you to locate it. Great efforts are made to try and get as many peeps there as possible but when faced with the daunting nature of Pennards...its very easy for a random collection of tents to get lost in an even bigger random collection of tents! :P

There was a shit ton of hype last year and the thought of telling the camp stewards never crossed anyone's mind...and yes it would have made a load of difference to some folk but it is really first come, first served...the earlier you arrive the more likely you will be anywhere near the semblance of the camp centre.

The exact location depends if the bods vaguely organising it arrive in time to get the correct/hoped for spot and how quick the boarder numbers then get there. There's no taping off but generally within 4 hours of gates open there is/was 50+ happy campers already set up near to each other. The numbers rise steadily but the phones generally get switched off once 6pm comes! If you need to find Efesters...we'll be at the Cider Bus by then!

It was unfortunate that the organisers arrived a whole...shock horror...hour later than planned but that still meant a big old gang didnt find us and camped elsewhere which was a big old shame.

Something wonderful will happen this year...it always does...dont you worry.

me and rexclark are planning on camping at , i've met a lot of efesters over the years and always had a great time at efest camps and meets.

i am a bit worried that we won't be able to squeeze in though, we are due to arrive around 10.30am on the wedesday but since this will be our first glasto i'm not sure how much time i should add on for traffic.

hopefully we'll manage to get there. :P

I'd be very tempted to try and meet some of you lot in the real world, but I'm not sure you'd want me darkening your metaphorical door. All that rich food and booze, it would be like Blazing Saddles.

    • The Radio Dept.?! That's a surprise to me, they haven't toured in like 8 years. Hopefully they will announce some more shows.
    • I was assuming September in Stirling might have a different issue tbf in the form of it just pissing it down.
    • Yeah so many of mine seem to be just France v Spain in one semi and England/Brazil v Argentina in the other. But the fact those combos are the obvious ones mean it feels unlikely that'll happen because in World Cup history, you very rarely end up with what pre-tournament looks like the obvious final 4. We all see teams outperform and underperform. Which one is the fall guy is a different matter.   I've said elsewhere that for me, there's a hierarchy of Spain, France and Argentina as the 3 strongest looking, then England and Portugal, then Brazil and Germany, but that overall, they'd be the 7 likeliest to win. So I dunno, maybe this will be the time the Netherlands avenge the failure of total football in 1974 and achieve what they couldn't achieve through whatever the f**k Nigel de Jong was with his 2010 final karate moves.
    • Oh I think Infantino should resign. His handling of the whole WC process has been an utter shitshow. But you know. That would require him having integrity or something.
    • Good Charlotte would be fine third down or subbing. If they can get a bigger sub and still get GC, they’ll play third down.
