I got a Glastonbury ticket and I did fuck all to get it. My son sorted out a group for us all to try and I fell asleep at 7:30 this morning and awoke at noon to find an email confirming a deposit had been paid. Just in the process of organising a bunch of flowers to the lass that sorted it all (a friend of my eldest). He says don't bother but hey its nice to be nice.

Managed to get the local quarry to deliver 10 tonnes of quarter to dust this morning as a freebie for an improved surface on my club's boules piste.  Now all I have to do with, hopefully, a few others, is wheelbarrow it 100 yards down an alleyway to the piste and then spread it to give us a smoother and more even top surface.

And off tonight with Mrs GH and and some friends to see Van Morrison.  I took Mrs GH to see Van on our first date, so happy memories.

Seeing Jack White, my new single getting a great review on a blog and being apart of Musicport 2018 this weekend.

Nice one. Is it possible to access the song ourselves so that we can have a listen? That would be interesting. My musical knowledge is notoriously lacking, so this would help to alleviate some of that burden.

Well, let's just say that there's something benevolent about your first Sunday smoke, that makes me currently happy.

Nice.

I'm having a nice Sunday too, been busy. Cooking Sunday roast. Baking a chocolate cake. Getting the washing done.

Just being.

My song? Of course. I have posted links on the forum already. It's electronica.

Take your pick, stream or download.

I've only ever baked one cake. It was a chocolate cake heavily infused with dope, and made to share amongst my mates at Glastonbury one year. Instead of icing sugar sprinkled on the top, I had speed sprinkled over it. It was a fine cake, if I say so myself. Really speaking, I think that I should be on that Bake Off thingy, with prowess like that.

Thank you for posting those options. It looks like I've managed to sign up to Spotify, somehow. I enjoyed listening to all the tracks, but will confess that although I enjoyed listening to them, that I wouldn't normally expose myself to too much of that type of music. That said, I could deal with it a whole lot better, and for longer, in a kind of come down room.

The above said, mine is not necessarily an opinion to be taken on board, as my wife started dancing and being happy to one of the songs. I hadn't told her that it was someone off efests -  she just liked it.

All the best for the future, and keep on enjoying your craft. :)

I went with a friend once to a farm and had some rather nice flapjacks from leftovers.

Then I went clubbing and couldn't open the curtain. Of sound.

I've always been hyper and huggy, so more into hallucinogenics, as no need for others.

Though I can get trippy without any.

I'm like a cat playing with a laser pen. I've been known to stare transfixed at the sparkly bits on the photo frame colleagues gave me for my 50th.

I have a friend who is like this. Anything sparkly and she's transfixed as though hypnotized. And I mean transfixed. Mind you, I think I'm preaching to the converted here.

Thank you so much for having a listen! We all like different types of music, I for instance, struggle with Reggae whilst most everyone I know loves it.

That's lovely to hear that your wife was dancing around to it!

Lot's planned for the future, I'm about to start taking it all out live a bit more :)

Yes, I like a little bit of Reggae, but only a bit ie. I could never go to a festival devoted to it.

Wishing you well for the future with it, especially taking it out live. :)

I just bought my wife a vape device from a specialist vape shop. She (like myself) is a 20 a day cigarette person. Hopefully she'll take to it and it will be a healthy alternative to ciggies. I did want to buy the item on line, but my wife wanted to feel the device, get proper instructions and advice on it etc. The device cost £30.

I now have bought the very same vape device on line for £18 for myself. I did explain to my wife that we could have just got the advice from the shop, and then bought that model on line, but she is all for supporting small independent businesses. I am too, but a £12 saving is a £12 saving. It could have been a £24 saving, but I guess we've done the right thing in this approach, as a sort of compromise.

I think that the above is making me happy, but guess that I probably could have posted this same post in the 'What's making you unhappy thread'!

I have now passed the 6 month mark without any Tobacco. This has made me happy. I am vaping though. Have tried a few times but the jazz cigs were always my downfall but that is all up in vape as well, so has been easier.

In the 6 months I have moved from 12mg Nicotine to 3 mg  and just started on 0mg so we will see how that goes

Well done on achieving 6 months without tobacco. That's a great innings.

I once gave up for about a year and a half, without any trouble at all. I initially used patches and smoked as part of an experiment conducted by Birmingham University. I lasted about 3 days on patches and smoking, and suddenly had no desire to smoke again. I had, at this time, also given up drinking. And then I went to Glastonbury (I think it was 2011). I lasted the first night at Glastonbury without a fag or a drink, because I took some mushrooms, and that did me OK. Then, on the Thursday morning at about 8am, I thought to myself ' Fuck this, I'm going to have a drink and a fag'. I eventually went to bed on the Friday evening, just as U2 came on.

Yea I do wonder what Glastonbury will do. Cutting down on Drink is what I am trying to do now. I am probably doomed come next June

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
