Yep, chipped her years ago and she's got a tag with our number on it. Just want to remove the heartache of her going missing and waiting for the call

Yeah, it's a horrible feeling. Hopefully it won't happen again, maybe someone 'borrowed' her overnight, like they did with mine :D

Back running again, starting from scratch with Couch 2 5K for the umpteenth time but feels great, instant mood improver!

I have to dance instead now, my running and rope jumping days are over.

I miss that feeling though.

I'm making the most of it feral as baby is going down relatively reliably for the night (due to wake up any minute though!) so it's a good opportunity to get out and get active. I'd love to get back to some of the classes I was doing before but can't commit just yet! At least running is nice and flexible.

I admire your determination, I think that's when I let things slip (there's a fair bit of slippage now, unfortunately, and even more slipperage lol)

Having friends sweep in and come to your aid when the cards are down and you are a busted flush. Me and the wife are in dire straights at the moment and just seem to be getting waves and waves of shit to deal with everyday. Our friends have found this out and are queing up to help. Bit weepy with emotion this end at their generosity.

Me and the wife had booked to go to Amsterdam to celebrate Kings Day next Monday but currently haven't got a pot to piss in (and have thousands to pay in bills). We'd already paid for the flights and a major deposit on accommodation last year when we were more flush with money, so were about to have to lose this by not going. One mate has just heard about this and said he'll happily give us the spending money we need to go. Another has said he'll drive us to the airport and pick us up again after.

So, at least we'll have a few days away from dealing with shit thanks to our mates. This is making me feel happy right now.

You have good mates, and you wouldn't have them if you didn't deserve them. Hope things improve for you soon x

Cheers feral. I've always treasured my mates and felt privileged to know them. When they step up to the mark when in hard times without question then it's very humbling. I don't mind saying that I was in tears earlier when one friend stepped in to help save our mini holiday. I'd do the same for them without question, but it's still emotional when one is on the receiving end of kindness.

That's an awesome thing to say, no wonder they're so glad to help :)

A walk down to the bank cheered me up.

it's been a bit of a negative, stressful time lately, bereaved acquaintances, sick pets, finances etc. And I had to rush down and pay some money into an overstretched bank account.

Despite walking through the castle grounds, the magnificence of the castle was going unnoticed. (by me at any rate). But then I saw the ducklings/goslings. And the beautiful swan swimming on the lake. And the children, and people walking their dogs, and puppies joyously experiencing their lives.

And it reminded me of how beautiful life on this planet is, and just how much worth it the life cycle is.

And how precious life is.

Enjoy.

I'm not sure why I haven't been raving about this since Wednesday but guess I've needed time for it to sink in. To cut a long story short I went on a very intensive locksmith course recently which finished on Wednesday. I passed all the tests and have now been given accreditation by one of the national locksmith organisations. I still need to do about two hours a day for a couple of months practicing on some high end security locks in order to get more proficient at picking them with speed.

The aim of all this is eventually to set up on my own as a locksmith, but realise that I may need to do about a year working for somebody else first in order to get the experience under my belt. I'll need at least 2 months working at home on locks first though before I can even consider that. However, it's making me happy because it possibly means that I don't have to return to the stressful soul destroying job I did before. I certainly hope so.

I wondered where this was going for a minute! :D

All the best in your new (legal?) venture :D

All totally legit I can assure you. I couldn't even rob a bank - even though they are all robbing us. I did once cash loads of cheques that were worthless once when I rather abruptly left university. It was in the days when you could guarantee a cheque for £50 with a cheque card. I had both because of having them at university. I don't mind saying that I went to town on cashing them cheques in. I eventually got caught within one of the banks because my name had obviously been circulated as a bandit.

On the subject of banks I once walked in to a mates room at his parents and noticed a letter from his bank stuck to the wall. It read something like Dear Mr ______, So sorry to hear that you are getting bad vibrations from this banks serviice delivery etc etc.

All the best in your new (legal?) venture :D

Really appreciated feral :) I've got to do something for a living and it would be nice for a change for it to be something I enjoy. That said, I'll be bricking it on my first job in the field. Not only did I conclude this myself, but it was then further re-enforced when my locksmith tutor echoed the same sentiment. Only he worded it something along the lines of 'you'll all have aresoholes pluckering like a bunny rabbits when you go out on your first job'. On reflection he was right to confirm it, so that we didn't think it was just ourselves that were on our own going through the experience.
