Same time in Lisbon at the moment isn't it? One of those American sports bars is your best bet. Or an Irish pub.

Isn't the same time as Vegas - but know what you meant !

Not sure what time the fight is scheduled for but guess it'll be somewhere between 4am - 6am

Is it just me or is the lead into the fight very quiet? Its in 3 weeks! Even Freddie Roachs "good vs evil" because of Mayweathers habit of smacking women about doesn't seem to be fueling the fire.

Weird.

I think the trouble is that nobody really believes that mayweather can lose. It's such a pity they couldn't have done it when the demand was highest. It's still going to be a big event.

I'm meant to be going round a mates to watch it but fuck, think I'd be pissed by the time it comes on and doing a Houdini lol.

Late start, always. Hours kip at about 6ish and dinner for 10pm.

No way I'm missing it. Would've been better a few years ago yeah but its still a huge fight. But its rare two top fighters fight unbeaten and both in their prime so we should be happy to take what we can get.

Even at his peak pacquiao wasn't unbeaten, he had already lost 3 times by that stage.

This is true yeah! Those two losses on the bounce seem to have finished him in the publics mind but hes avenged the Bradley defeat since. And its champ vs champ.

  • 3 weeks later...

yeah i want manny to win anyway but really want him to win so that we get sour grapes from mayweather accusing him of somehow cheating using drugs even though they've had the testing and stuff. would make good entertainment even if the fight isn't

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
