Hmmmm, don't know if it's good or bad.

I did say I wanted at least 1 Pyramid headliner I didn't want to see, but that's now 2 (if Muse do headline)

On the assumption that if Muse may be Sunday headliner then at least it means I'll get to see Faithless or Chemical Brothers headlining the Other Stage. :P

I would like one Pyramid headliner so hopefully it's not Radiohead or Coldplay, otherwise I may go see U2. Tried the greatest hits again the other night and like a couple of songs, but not enough to go watch for 2hours.

I'd be surprised if Radiohead or Coldplay headlined, since the whole Jay-Z thing I think they really want to put on headliners who are aren't predictable. Which makes me surprised that Muse are booked, but I suppose they needed somebody youngish eventually, or people might start complaining that about the headliners all being old.

Not really a band for the locals on Sunday...if this is right then its another pretty good booking from ME. No doubt we will now be swamped with Muse threads. Myself i am will proberbly give them a miss, there ok but not what i would class as a headline band. Keep them coming ME

+1. I'm holding out for the Stones or Prince for the Saturday. I can dream :P. All this talk of the headliners next year looks like it may balance out my seeing all three for the first time this year by seeing none next year :P .

Ok, I'm not surprised in the slightest by this news/announcement/strong rumour. I'm pretty sure they'll be headlining the Pyramid on Sunday too.

If saturday's headliner is not one of the following: Led Zep, The Rolling Stones or Radiohead (in order of preference) I will be feeling slightly underwhelmed by this year's headliners. don't get me me wrong, u2 are a monumental booking and I'm happy that the Eavis family have managed to pull it off and book them. Muse are also a massive "current" band. But in all honesty, I'm not overly fussed about seeing either (I have seen Muse twice in the past, promoting their older albums - which were better than their latest offering in my opinion). U2 don't have much more appeal, but I'll possibly watch them if nothing else tickles my fancy. To cut a long story short, I'm hoping that Faithless will be headlining the Other stage as an alternative to either Muse or U2, and that Noel Gallagher will be performing at some point over the weekend.. It will then be happy days as far as I'm concerned :P

Don't want to sound like I'm having a moan, there's much more to Glastonbury than the headliners and I bloody love the place!!

Neil, is this Muse announcement the "big announcement" that you said you'd be making before the end of this week - or is there more to come?

MUSE :P:P:P Knew it, makes perfect sence for them to be the current band headliner with the new album. I think this could be a bit like U2 and we will get a really great striped down performence with maybe a few older tracks than more swayed towards resistance (big fan of the resistance apart from guiding light btw!).

I can just imagine the huge rave to undisclosed desires on the pyramid, or imagine exogenis in full with an orchestra as well!.

My excitement for glasto has just tripled, even U2 got me excited and I don't really care about them!

Well I won't watch them as they're really not my thing, but they're an excellent choice to play. Personally, I find them a bit too whiney, though I can't deny their talent. I thought they were good in 2004, but wouldn't see them again. I'll be elsewhere. Seasick Steve in the Acoustic Tent, please! :P

A lot of my mates will be ecstatic about this news, and that can only be a good thing, surely?

If they're headlining, I have to comment the powers that be - U2 and Muse are both pretty bloody impressive names.

All very exciting.

Lot of people slag off Guiding Light but I don't mind it .... MK Ultra is a beast though, so glad they did that at the O2. U2, Muse & Radiohead headlining would actually be unreal, my 3 favourite live bands!
