Queen feat Robert Plant?

Apologies if this has been posted previously.....

I listened to an interview with Brian May of Queen, where he suggested that next year they will be playing at "a major festival" in the UK in 2010.

Paul Rodgers would no longer be their frontman, but it was likely that Robert Plant would be a guest replacement for the show.

Now seeing as it's a very special anniversary for Glasto.......

*strokes chin....

Brian May has said:-

That Queen had no intentions to tour in 2010 but that there is a possibility of a performance. Brian is quoted as saying "The greatest debate, though, is always about when we will next play together as Queen. At the moment, in spite of the many rumours that are out there, we do not have plans to tour in 2010. The good news, though, is that Roger and I have a much closer mutual understanding these days – privately and professionally … and all ideas are carefully considered. Music is never far away from us. As I write, there is an important one-off performance on offer"

That was said on 30th of October on his website.

EDIT.. typo my mistake i put September instead of October :P sorry for any confusion :P

I'd love to see Brian and Roger at Glasto. Amazing musicians, well worth seeing.

I think it's long since been the time the name Queen was retired - it's unfortunately a now defunct name without Freddie and John :P . Why not simply May and Taylor?

Anyway, if they play (which I doubt) I'll be there. Saw them in October last year and they were immense.

I've always said i'd never be interested in seeing Queen minus Freddie. I've always said i'd never be interested in seeing Led Zep without Plant. The prospect of Plant doing the lead vocals with Queen has warped my fragile little mind. Would i hate it or love it? I DON'T KNOW!!!

Plant solo - awesome

Plant and Strange Sensations - brilliant

Plant and Alison Krauss - magical

Plant, Page and Jones with Jason on drums - one can only dream

Plant and an allstar backing band including Brian May, etc playing the music that inspired them - definitely worth seeing but

Plant and Queen minus Freddie and John doing Queen or Zep stuff - please don't do it

Plant is a brilliant vocalist/frontman as was Freddie, but that's where it stops. Freddie would have been dreadful singing Zep songs, as Plant would be singing Queen songs.....

I was at the Freddie Mercury tribute at Wembley in '92 and the whole day was amazing. One of my biggest regrets is not seeing Queen with Freddie live. That and not flying on Concord. I recall that some bands were great there but terrible on the TV. Plant may have been that.

I started this post with the intention of saying I'd be there for sure and it would rock, but thinking of a Queen setlist, I'm struggling to find songs that I think would work.

But then again, I only know/like a handful of Led Zep songs, and I don't see what all the fuss about Muse is.

U2 will be great, the Stones would be entertaining, Take That/Robbie/Kylie as a triple header would be fantastic.

Robert Plant and Brian May with a host of others on the Saturday night as an all star band kinda thing would be brilliant I think. Someone suggested it on here actually.

Could have

Plant, May, Macca(?), Gilmour/Waters, Jimmy Page, Thom Yorke, Dave Grohl, Damon Albarn etc etc... maybe even Bowie because he would probably be up for just doing one song as opposed to a full set.
