Yaaaay !! another '94 vid and one that (almost) rivals the bestest Levellers vid ever as posted earlier !

And now just a mere 9 days almost to the minute until the AMG venues bit of the current tour kicks off with the opening gig being rather conveniently located only several hundred yards away from me and (very fortunately) well within real easy staggering distance :P Sonic Boom 6 (or maybe that should be somewhat <6 these days :P) as support it would appear. Hmmmm, they're not really my kinda thing but they do sound more than OK so it's all looking good for a night of cold, gassy, over-priced so-called 'beer' of whatever dubious variety AMG dispenses these days, a not-too-bad support act and a bl**dy good Levellers gig albeit of slightly smaller proportions than the one (hopefully) to be enjoyed somewhere towards the end of June next year :P:P

They are on tour again next April & hopefully see them at Glasto too.

+ Worth mentioning the Levs are of course already headlining another festival next June (Wychwood first weekend of June) so gotta be dead cert on the bill for Glasto.

right, I've now dug out 'A weapon called the word' and 'levelling the land'. That was the point where we parted company, just before that one with the ear of corn on the front. Which other ones are worth getting?

This has prompted me to dig out my old McDermott's Two Hours album. Hooray!

I reckon I saw them 14 or 15 times between about 1989/1990 and 93 or 94, then just drifted away from them. Got some really old 12"s somewhere, from before 'A weapon called the word". Might dig them out the attic next time I'm home

Sorry if I missed you all at the London gig. Not sure I definately did though as was chatting to a load of people before the gig in the O'Neils to the left of the venue for a few hours before hand. Was already a bit far gone though so can't remember names etc.

Mark Chadwick was in there for a bit too, so took the oppertunity to ask him about any Glasto plans that might have now been cemented. Of course he said that they had still heard nothing back, but sort of winked like he might have been having to tell people that . . .

Anyway, top gig - bit of a vanilla set perhaps I thought, but good to see Steve Boakes out there with his didg and warpaint once again. Mark sounded a bit croakey when I spoke to him - perhaps that's why Simon covered vocals on a few songs.

Levellers had a German date over Glasto weekend. We've attempted to find out where this leaves them for Glastonbury but without getting any solid info.

Tho reading between the lines of what we were told to our questions, I'd put money on Levellers playing this year. :P

    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
    • Proper loser behaviour wearing a tee like that. Me and my mate play a game every year called ‘Boomer Tees’ and there’s some gems every time.
