a) Ian Brown and the rest of the band now hate each other.

:P Ian Brown has a solo career.

c) Manny has a career with Primal Scream.

d) Reni is a producer/DJ (I think) and is doing OK.

e) Squires is now allegedly and artist and hasn't (apparently) picked up a guitar since the Seahorses quit and is still struggling with drug addiction.

I love(d) the Roses but hope they never sully the memory of what they were. It would never live up to expectation and - lets be honest - there would be no guarantee of them stomaching each other long enough to actually be guaranteed to turn up.

I think/hope not.

I have to agree that neither will ever happen. It's a shame because this year I knocked off the last few from my list of bands I always wanted to see but somehow missed -

(Radiohead @Leeds were fantastic as were Blur @ Glasto this year who shot to the top of my all time list until The Pixies last night @ Brixton, a twenty year wait that turned out to be very worth my while and knocked Blur off top spot. A must for next years fest!)

-I've seen the Roses a few times and think it would be a car crash and spoil a lot of great memories for me. The Smiths on the other hand would be superb and could pull it off as long as Moz doesn't have a sulk! So I will have my fingers.

I guess The Smiths would be a tad more likely. Also isn't there some talk of Johnny Marr making an album with Ian Brown now?! Having said that, he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself on stage with the cribs on sunday!

As for the roses...never gonna happen. Ever.

As much as we can pretend it might happen, they probably wont, The Smiths or The Roses, for obvious reasons really. Most reformations nowadays happen purely for the money, I love The Verve, but it pisses me off the way they knocked out a quick album that consisted of alot of Ashcrofts solo stuff he had lying around, toured a bit, then f**ked off and split up again.

I think the most likely possibility, is a band to reform of their own accord very soon and Glastonbury snaps them up, or maybe Led Zeppelin, because as far as I know, they've never actually headlined Glastonbury before, and seeing as its the 40th anniversary they might just want to go for it, but I think thats highly unlikely, and I dont even think Eavis would approach them. So lets just see... and hope

No.

It would be shit.

"Maybe if you see me begging on the streets you might find me doing The Stone Roses the next day," he said. "We did it [formed a band] because we wanted to change the world, we didn't do it because we wanted to be millionaires."

Well said sir, well said.

you must have seen them after reni left, there's no way you could call the line up of mani, reni and squire a rubbish band.

I think it's always possible they could bury the hatchet, squire even offered a song for ian brown's latest album.

With the 40th Glastonbury, it's the perfect opportunity.

And they owe Glasto a favour for cancelling in '95!

I hate to rain on everyone's parade but Ian Brown laughed at rumours of a reunion in a recent interview, in fact he said it would never, ever happen and that rumours that he was even talking to John about it were utter Tosh. The man doesn't even like Indie music anymore. As much as I would love to see them, they are not going to. End. Of.

I am an even luckier bugger that played in a band that supported them 2 nearly 3 times. How anybody can say they were rubbish live is beyond me . I had never heard any of there stuff before the gig at Preston and they blew me away.

Please don't get back together though.

There is also no chance of the smiths, the libertines, pulp or any other big broke up British band people can't let go of. If any of these bands even reform I will post my adress on here and invite you all to come around and kick me in the balls.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
