Im afraid there was no irony in my post...

Before 2007 i did fear the future of the festival...

I think razorlight were just what we needed, and now we have some quality acts such as Kings of Leon and Fall Out Boy to make the festival safe for another good 10 years...

And whats with the V bashing?

Download would only dream of having acts such as Snow Patrol and Keane on thier bill

Good Day

To be fair as far as NME bands go the ones that are up there are hardly that bad. I abhor the NME as a publication but some of the bands they promote are good, even if most are overrated.

Arctics are good, KoL's last album was pretty horrible but their earlier three as many will know were more raw and slightly heavier affairs and actually quite good all in all. Bloc Party may not have impressed people last year and do seem to crop up all the time but they are a good intelligent indie rock band. Maximo Park and YYYs are both excellent live, and Ian Brown put on a good show at Glasto '07, won the crowd over and included plenty of Stone Roses songs in his set which were sounding good (though he can put on awful shows sometimes too). I've heard Vampire Weekend are decent live too.

Courteneers, Kaisers and Enter Shikari are worse than AIDS, cot death and Jade Goody combined though. Still, there's plenty of awful bands the NME love (Pigeon Detectives, The Enemy, The View, The Fratellis, The Automatic etc etc) who could have shown up.

I know the metalheads aren't that happy with the lack of metal on offer but take the time to give more of a listen to the bands on show. Most of them aren't particularly spectacular granted but most of them aren't terrible either. Granted with some of the bands you would've been exposed to their stuff enough to know you don't like them but even say with KoL it's worth checking out the older stuff if you haven't heard it.

You might aswell, unless there's better alternatives you'll be there watching them and you never know, you might find a couple of bands you never thought you'd like.

Jesus, just don't respond to that guy. Everyone had fun with him last year for a few hours before he got old. Unfortuantly he doesn't know when to stop and will probably create another few threads in order to get attention from people just don't give it him and he will go away.

Also, new Placebo song...TUNE. They should be rather good
