Not a headliner but maybe worth mentioning? I went to see Ill Bill just before xmas & was lucky enough to meet him after the gig. He said that his new group La Coka Nostra (Ill Bill, Slaine, Big Left & the former members of House of Pain) had been talking to both R&L and Download about playing & R&L looks like the favourite, their debut album is dropping soon & they've announced a huge tour of the states. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea on here but I guarantee when they play Jump Around the place will go crazy!

Could not disagree more. Even when the GnR performance is farcical, as it was at Download, it is still really entertaining. Radiohead, as good as they are, are likely to bore a lot of people. Axl is genuinely insane, whereas Yorke is just a bit too up himself. I know which I would rather watch!

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping this is true. Admittedly, all bands I've seen before but still a cracking combination of headliners IMHO. I have to try and sort out my summer leave from work on Monday and will now be aiming to be off for R/L. I can see why it may not be what a lot of the metal fans were hoping for but there will hopefully still be plenty on the bill for them

The only reason that I can think of that is not the traditional 'heavier' band this year, is because of that new metal festival at Knebworth. With that and Download, FR may have found it hard to sign a band of a decent stature.

Personally I think it's a brave move by them, and it's the first year in a long time that'll I'll be watching more than one headliner.

If it was those 3 mentioned (AM, KOL, Radiohead) then that would suit me fine. I'm no massive fan of either, but they're all known to be brilliant live bands, and I do like them all.

Unlike last year where I didn't see a single headliner, The Killers were the only one that excited me, but the Manics were on at the same time.

I'd take any of those three - seen them all many times before but they're ideal warm-up bands for a headliner. In fact in 2004 wasn't it

Green Day

50 Cent

Placebo

Lostprophets

Now omitting fiddy that might not be far off again this year!!

    • It can take around 30-45 mins to walk from the arena back to the transport hub with the crowds, depending on density. Allow even longer in poor conditions. I don't think you'd need to leave Linkin Park early though, you have at least an hour and 20 minutes to walk to transportation. I certainly wouldn't leave early in your shoes, knowing I can just walk to the airport if needs be (2 mile walk and another 30 - 45 min walk depending on your walking speed and conditions.) Maybe just don't linger too long for the toilet / food after Linkin Park have finished.  It will definitely make sense and all just fall into place on the night, don't worry too much and have a great time. The very worst that can happen is a little extra walking to the Airport Skylink bus stop, as those Skylink busses are 100% 24 hour. 🙂  GFS, ICON and ECMWF are ALL in agreement on the latest runs.... After a mildly moist Weds and Thurs, high Pressure building from Friday... Lets just hope they continue to agree... ☀️☀️☀️
