  1. Spoke to JC this evening in Cheltenham. Tour announcement is coming October 28th. 13 dates.
  2. Last time I saw the carpets was at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon.
  3. Inspiral Carpets tweeted a teaser last night, so maybe its on!
  4. I liked the pier. Spent an hour or so there and would return on a Wednesday/Thursday for a mooch. I guess there is a high churn of new attendees who will give it a look and keep it busy. Its pretty cool. And as previous, I bet it shifts a fair amount of merch as its a a bit different with its holiday vibe.
  5. They may well do but I think Liam G’s attendance was affected by tickets being initially sold about a year out rather than six months and the rail strike that affected transport on the weekend. Maybe.
  6. i got a couple of seats for Bristol. Had to grab what I could as I was being audited at work so was winging both the audit and the ticket buying at that point 😄 Glad it was fixed, not dynamic pricing though.
  7. I wonder if the logic is that if you get through to actually buy tickets then the cost will be almost irrelevant and a £10/20 hike on what you were expecting would be ignored? They’ve also added to the hype with the ticket restrictions.
  8. I’d have expected to see prices on the pre sale links that were sent out today. Am I wrong?
  9. I’m not feeling it. That’s fine of course, but Ferry gives me the ick. Always has.
  10. That Foo Fighters tribute gig. No disrespect to TH, but looked bloody awful. And, the Queen thing? Just, no.
  11. Didn’t he do a runner when a whole squad of Jackson’s legal team arrived? 😄
  12. Most people don't have strong feelings I guess but if you need a band reference to hate to prove your Edgelord credentials then they are perfect for that. I saw them on the release of Parachutes in Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, it was a real moment and I didn't see them again until the last Glastonbury festival. That was every bit the moment. Different, but still.
  13. I saw Michael Kiwanuka last week in Edinburgh as part of the festival Summer Sessions gigs. Absolutely superb gig and great sound in the Princes Street Gardens. Also, due to the incredibly tame and middle class crowd, there was next to no chatting, moving about or mobile phone camera interference in the gig. Most everyone just watched the concert. Brilliant.
  14. I've always thought the Elton would be legend slot before he would ever headline. I don't think he's played because of his notorious petulant behaviour. I can imagine the Eavii cant be arsed with it, or there has been a fall out. The annual rumour needs putting to rest, and along with it the dreaded spectre that the Queen tribute band might turn up one time.
  15. No biggies for me, I guess I should have really committed for Wetleg or not bothered at all. Wasted my time trying as it was. We left Deptford Northern Soul Club as my wife wanted to catch some Calvin Harris. Wish we’d stayed in Williams Green. Much nicer. I do wish I’d checked the alternator connection on my camper before I set off. 🙂

    Sam Fender

It’s easy to assume Sam will come back in a few years to headline, and I hope he does. But I do remember the same assumptions being made when Jake Bugg headlined the Other Stage.
  17. Arctic Monkeys Depeche Mode Lathums Isley Brothers Specials Doves Stone Foundation The Coral Elton as the legend slot Michael Kiwanuka
  18. Perfect warm up for Macca. Good set list well executed. Everyone knew what to expect so no need for any one to be whining about it… plenty of other places to be etc.

    cash or card

It was handy having some cash as there were points when card payments were not accepted and queues were short if you could pay cashola. Im sure no stalls wanted cash only for tax purposes.
  20. My wife’s felt ill all week and just today gone +. To quote Diana, I’m still waiting.
  21. Macca Pet Shop Boys Gabriels Honourable mention to Sam Fender.
  22. I hate to say it, but yeah. I think we saw about one track and moved on. Sound didn’t seem great and it was hard work. Got to Haim and they were killing it.

    Rewind

Might have gone to Paul & Jacqui on Friday night. As good as I thought Billie was, I was watching rather than involved in any way.
  24. First time at B&W for me, always been in East CV before. No checks coming in, casual glance a pass and no check on interior of van or glass as we've always had before. Buses were ok almost every time and waits were sub 5 minutes. I reckon from van to Park/Other Stage area was an hour generally, I do walk fairly fast though. 'Proper' loos and showers at B&W were always clean and reasonably quiet. Main gripe was Sunday night when queues back to B&W were about an hour to get on the bus. Really killed the mood/vibe after PSB tbh. I'll do everything I can in future to get back to East CV, felt too detached from the festival. I love walking up the hill of death and looking back across the site.
