What would constitute a Glastonbury.....

Neither of those, the festival went on when Jean died and she was a damn sight more important than any Windsor ever will be.

Perhaps if timed right, say October, then Michael getting seriously ill could stop it, but I reckon if he dropped dead in June, the festival would go on.

Foot and mouth outbreak, maybe. Or *very* serious weather conditions, but it'll have to be hailing frogs given all the infrastructure investments they keep making.

Can't think of much TBH.

A severe Foot and Mouth outbreak could well cause a cancellation (to many festivals - not just Glastonbury) just because of the legal restrictions to the movement on people on agricultural land. That said there are ways around that, including the use of disinfectant bootwash etc. as is employed at agricultural shows. It would have to be a huge 'national crisis' sort of outbreak to cancel the festival.

And as for weather - well, if the festival's infrastructure can survive the storms overnight on the Thursday night in 2005, it can cope with anything. Let's hope we never get snow though, eh? The festival would be fine, but the surrounding roads would be fucked. No-one would be able to get there!

Disease only I'd think - though it came close to stopping due to the flooding in 2005.

But F&M would be a total no-go, ditto any proper human disease outbreak god forbid ebola made it here or a mega-flu actually turned out as bad as threatened but then any mass gatherings would be disallowed

I remember seeing a major incident plan for the festival sometime ago and only an outbreak of a major disease would cause it to abandonded due to shear numbers, location etc.

I think a couple of weeks beforehand it would have to be soemthing like that to cause it to be cancelled, Michael would hate to think that his kicking the bucket would stop it happening, especially after all he has done to keep it going.....he beat Thatcher of course
