I tend to agree. Who, of the current announced line-up, do we think will be subs?

Working on the theory that Sombr is co-headlining he would be one, I guess Biffy would be two.

I can't think that anyone else on the bill is big enough?

While he's not the biggest name in the world, I can see him closing Main Stage from a music perspective. 12 to 12 as the final song before kicking of the night programme feels like it makes sense to me (as opposed to Lewis which would be quite sad as a main closer)

With regards to main stage subs, I can see bbno$, Biffy and hopefully Tash

I guess, we can agree, that there are still 2 or 3 headliners (one major and possibly 2 co-headliners) to be announced. What are your tips?

my list:

Lorde

Zara Larsson

Bicep ( i hope its not calvin harris)

plus Prodigy (as surprise)

Bicep aren't touring their live show - not sure they would headline in Hungary even with it?

More likely for the tent i reckon

LoveStream festival in Bratislava (8.8.) announced Robbie Williams.

Do we think he would be possibility for the Sziget?

I know Gerendai said no big names...but this would be nice 🙂

I’ve seen he’s been announced for a few festivals around a similar time, I reckon he’s possible

What if Harry Styles is one of the missing headliners? He’s just published a short video on YouTube and there are some rumors he’s about to announce the new album and 10+2(optional) shows at Wembley in June. Is he too big for Sziget?

Yes.

I think Harry is one of a handful of acts currently touring where day tickets would sell out immediately and people would buy three or five day tickets just to see him - and not attend on the other days - which would leave the festival feeling soulless on those days.

So, no, he isn't coming I'm afraid.

Happy new year all.

Thought I'd start 2026 with the standard question of when do we think announcement number two is coming?

As the first announcement was a bit of a rush job, i assume they may take a little longer with the second while also concious that they need to announce a couple more headliners pretty soon.

So, mid Feb?

I think, unless we get a good-sized headliner announced with their own announcement, that we are probably looking at mid-March. And I think, and hope, it will be a good one.

Most of the August european festivals have already announced their headliners. I don't expect any new big name for the August circuit.

Who do we reckon is still in the realm to be announced for Sziget in the August circuit?

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
