Very happy with the announcement today and quite relieved as I (and everyone else in my group) really wanted him to be there. Yes, you can probably tell that I'm not in my 20s, unfortunately 🙂. Last time I saw him was around 15 years ago and he was fantastic live. People who saw him in his mini "Play - 25 years" tour in '24 told me that he still is.

Moby, especially in the absence of big names this year, won't be in the Barn. It would be "unsafe" if the organisers did that. Some people might be underestimating just how popular he still is, plus we had "smaller" acts as subs the last few years. He will be subbing for the Cure (imo he should be the festival closer, but we already know that the Cure are closing).

And with that, there is a potential nightmare clash forming for me with Moby against A Perfect Circle as it looks like they'll be there on Sunday and highly likely at one of the top two spots in the Barn. I really really hope it won't be the case but the chances are high!

Especially with the fact Werchter is a standard daytime timings festival as well Moby should be closing as he might be still on in daylight.

Moby is going to clash with the very possible case of APC though which wouldn't be an issue for me. I'd rather Moby player after The Cure though.

Should be about 21.00 to 22.30 so should be sunset and getting dark so sure it’ll be fine tbf

I still think APC are more likely 3rd down and they’ll make it more young in the barn

Moby is likely to start before 21:00, The Cure will get 2hrs 15 at least so go on at 22:45 latest. You'll have an hours break before so it's going to closer to 20:30 most likely. Sunset is almost 10pm that time of the year too so he's definitely starting before sunset.

I also don't see APC playing before Moby, a dance act. They'll likely be a rock alternative to Moby. If they went on before The Cure yes as last time it was Tool, The Cure, BMTH, Weezer and The 1975. I'd expect something similar to the last time he played before a rock act, after one it doesn't look so much a strange slot.

There is also a small chance now that only one of two acts get announced completely now with Lorde expected on Thursday. The fact people seem consistent in expecting Friday to be a co-headliner still suggests other days look stronger. They also didn't get a different write up to The Cure announcement as a closer other than being the first headliner. I am surprised Lorde isn't getting her own announcement.

Unless they finish a little later, but yeah forgot about the extended Cure time.

Festileaks gives the impression The Prodigy are quite a bit smaller in Belgium than in the UK. Discussion seems to think they might be Barn headliners?

If on the main stage surely they'd have to be in the dark after Mumford, and weren't they announced as closing already in the press release?

The Prodigy is an unexpected lovely bonus!

What we thinking? Friday Co-head tomorrow and then big ole batch on Friday before ticket sales?

Yeah something like this I think, don't think you can put day tickets on sale for Friday with only the XX announced.

DTRH later today, could provide more insight to the package, especially if names like Lorde or TWOD are there.

does this mean they have accepted the experimental pop acts haven't worked and they have now focused energy on an older demographic?

Think its more to do with what's available. Most fests are going with the older acts formula next year with The Cure, Nick Cave, XX and Gorillaz.

Yeah fair enough, looking forward to the first batch of names soon. These names so far are basically perfect for me but I also like to discover something new

    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
