No APC at Graspop, the dream lives on...

Yeah I think that makes them very likely for Werchter now. No Offspring either.

From the Graspop drop a name that I could see working pretty well at RW is Mastodon. In absence of many choices for heavy music, they could have been a great option (last time they were there was 2012 if I’m not mistaken).

No offspring or perfect circle at Werchter. I could definitely see them on Thurs or Fri.

You mean Graspop?

Both very likely. The Offspring fits so well below Foos.

Foos, The Offspring

Marilyn Manson Barn headliner.

Mumford/Jack White, TWOD

TOP/Gorillaz co-headline, Lorde

The Cure, Florence

Really not sure that RW would be going after Marilyn Manson. Don't think he's played since 2007, and It doesn't seem worth the potential backlash given his controversies. I don't think he really helps sell tickets to the target audience in 2025.

I also think some of the placements are off. TWOD would probably sub as they've played that spot before, and likewise Lorde is probably bigger than 3rd down.

MM, if booked, also doesn't make sense as a barn headliner against Foos + Offspring as you're just giving the audience a choice of 90s rock acts.

I just want Manson somewhere I'm going lol and so far he's only been announced for one European festival and its not exclusive. To be honest given the difference of target audience in the lineup this year its hard to say.

TWOD and Lorde would be subbing if they are below co-headliners. Macklemore got 1hr 15 for example in 2019 when Mumford and Florence co-headlined. Royal Blood got over an hour as well under RHCP and The Killers and I'm sure there are more examples. The Cure didn't sub in 2019 either. So giving co-headliners 1.5hours each and Lorde 1hr 10/15 wouldn't be something they've not done before. BMTH only got an hour but then The Cure got much longer. TWOD will still be able to get their 1hr 15.

Manson in the Barn same time as Mumford would be perfect. Then Pixies in the Barn same time as TOP....see you in the Barn @northernangel, I'll give you a beer if this pans out 😉

I love the mobile beertenders, possibly my favorite guys at the festival....they're proof that not all heroes were capes 😁

It does make more sense. I'll be honest I picked him Thursday purely being Iggy was picked on Thursday being the heavy day this year even though they are different but I was like you've got Maribou State and Underworld other days....not that it has to be like for like.

Make it a cocktail and you're on 😉, can't do beer haha.

Cracking bar beside the barn does all sorts of cocktails, and there's an ice tea bar beside the barn do a few aswell, actually quite good for the non beer drinker

Nice

On the MM point, I guess he is doing another Spain festival.

Another possibility is depending on what The Prodigy announce and when they could be in the picture.

There's no chance virtually they don't book The Offspring, they are playing directly around it, festivals that crossed over heavily with it previously and Grasspop don't have them. If you're predicting A Perfect Circle it makes no sense not to predict them too over any of the other, and even though I'm a fan, I don't need them as they are at RIP anyway. TLDP won't get get 3rd down under a co-headline of Mumford and Jack White which it would be, they would be likely to play 3rd Sunday with APC headlining the Barn who will probably be playing mutliple 2nd stage at festivals this year.

Can’t book everyone and can’t see APC being up against The Cure myself

They might not be but opposite The Cure and no you can't book everyone, but you're predicting APC either based on the same principles and Thw Offspring have more time that weekend free even. They won't have a day of Sabrina, Lorde, Teddy Swims in a row come to think of it, there will be an element of rock in the top 3, Olivia at least gives of some rock vibes and she wasn't chosen to sell the Thursday either. Hopefully we'll see the next headliner on by Tuesday. We will have two of Mad Cools Sabrina, Foos and Mumfords with it being normal to miss out on one like they will us and 2/3 of the next lot of Nick Cave, Defones, APC, Olivia Dean, Florence and TOP mentioned going by the leak. Obviously Cave, Deftones are out. I don’t think Olivia will be in. TOP already are so getting 3 in and 3 not is possible.

I still think APC will be at Graspop, they're missing a big name to play before Volbeat on Friday.

The Offspring however, I hope they'll be at RW. Subbinig before Foos on the Thursday would fit nicely.

Some think it'll be Megadeth and Anthrax filling those slots. I dont think APC will get a sub myself, I reckon they would be 3rd down.

Both Megadeth and Anthrax play Grospop on Thursday. In 2018 APC headlined the North Stage at Graspop. If APC play before Volbeat on the south stage next year, because of the double main stage setup, the order on the two main stages would be: Breaking Benjamin --> A Perfect Circle --> Twisted Sister --> Volbeat. Fits perfectly IMO

Just don’t see a reason to hold APC back myself as they’ve already been announced for a few things.

I’d be happier with others predictions rather than mine, it’s just I work oh who I know will defo be about.  Hopefully we’ll become clearer this week

Right you, to be honest I didn't like it up when I read it but should have seen it on the poster. I also just took people's word they at they weren't announced and saw they weren't. With that outlook though, you are correct and headlning North would put them subbing South I'd guess or even a bit of an in-between one. Myself, I wouldn't watch APC even though I would the others but I get that's just me. Do those two stages alternate as there is still 7 acts on each eventually?

It's not against you but I think if your prediction was correct it'll look like a poor lineup compared to others around. To fail to grab Foos and get Sabrina instead wouldn't be good. That's not saying they are weak choices but Werchter would be getting The Cure over Mad Cool who are an all-rounder. People won't look at those 4 acts top of Werchter and say well done

Not sure there’s any massively stand out lineups around in the same genre as they’re all sharing the same headliners so far and tbf, will continue to do so.

RW will be better overall due to the 4 day nature of it plus the ticket price being similar.

The Foos were there 2 years ago, you have been able to see them for years everywhere, set lists are the same.  Not sure they’re this shining light to make things better.  (That said, of course I’d prefer them over Sabrina).

4 days over 3 doesn't mean it'll be better overall, bookings are dependent. I would have taken two of Werchter headliners over the other Mad Cool this year who I thought had disappointing headliners but I'd have taken 3, if not 4 of their undercard over a lot of the Werchter undercard all day because they were better options for me. The headliners would have sealed Werchter, the undercard wouldn't.

Foos were there in 2024 and while I get that, PJ and The Killers were there in 2018 and again in 2022 even though there had only been one actual festival between them. Yes there would have been 4 years if 20 and 21 hadn't been off due to covid but on paper they repeated two headliners 2 festivals later.

But that’s for you.  As value, a festival where you can see 35 acts is going to be better than one that you’ll see about 12-15 max when they all share the same acts and have minimal differences.

And as always, I don’t really care who is playing, I’ll go, listen to those I don’t know and have fun with my mate.
