Turnstile are too big for Trees now.

Aye James has said as much on the podcast previously I believe.

Architects, Bilmuri, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach and President all most likely ruled out of Download given European festivals over the same weekend. Wonder if we could see any at Trees given Slam Dunk also haven't announced any of them yet?

Architects have been offered before and said no. Sounds like it was about as good as Trees can offer too.

Do we have anything to suggest those two?. It won't be Architects, too big.  We're talking about bands that would play 4th down, 3rd at the very max at Download, not sub.

There's two with the same agent, assuming we guessed the right one we whittled it down to a handful of bands, those two do seem the most likely

I mean RA are clearly around, not at Slam Dunk, did Download, won't be at Reading but nothing to suggests AFI yet, I hope though.

No it doesn't, but they do ask every year, and were told they'd get them next time they're touring and this year does kind of feel like it's finally the one.

Why do you think Architects will except now when they refused before?

Because a bands manager came to James so could be possible as he’s asked previously. They’re also doing some smaller European festivals, headlining Bloodstock recently so might not be adverse to headlining smaller ones and have basically been ruled out of Download. They would and probably are too big for it however BFMV and Don Broco have done it recently, both pretty big arena ticket shifters.

As mentioned Rise Against are about & AFI new album, would make sense.

I feel like headlining Bloodstock counts against them rather than for, it's still probably 60/70% bigger than Trees, and they're playing they're biggest show to date in Manchester this weekend so it wouldn't surprise me if the band still have their sights set on Download headliner one day, not that I expect it to happen

Saying that my deluded ass is now back on the Biffy Clyro hype train as the organiser has posted a picture of him in a field for a 'secret festival meeting' with one of their songs as music to it

Yeah I’m probably way off but I can’t help but think they’ll do something in the UK and they’re about during trees. Maybe they’ll do a London show with Papa Roach or something similar to Deftones / Weezer last year.

BFMV aren't a big arena ticket shifter, they did better because they did an album show which nearly every band that does their most album will do a bigger tour and better. That's not a recognition in true form of what a band does on a usual tour. Look at what Bullet did on a normal tour before going back to 2016 and beyond. You've got Cardiff Motorpoint a couple of times and they are Welsh, you've got Ally Pally once and Nottingham Arena in a period when gigs could suddenly happen again after covid and back to the roundhouse. The fact they got booked for Pilot with another two 3rd down at max bands too, Download have given then a sub position for 10 years longer than they should have, not even a Wembley Arena or higher in sight until the album shows which didn't sell out.

Don Broco are a more consistent arena band and only made it 3rd down this year but they aren't just touching Ally Pally like the the two 3rd downs, they don't have the bias friends of the festival tag either.

Hope you're right about them two for Trees, it much represent 100% better bookings at the top than this year though likely only go for AFI
