I could see Little Simz and Wet Leg playing Amazon Music Stage at like 3am, after Mordor closes. That's become a pretty prestigious timeslot in prior years, with Charli and Turnstile playing it.

I hope so. Acts like that are always better away from Mordor. Kneecap are another I'd rather they didn't put there. Unless it's Kendrick, hip hop just doesn't translate to that huge open space.

I'm a fan of Ethel Cain and already saw her current tour. To be honest, I thought the Willoughby Tucker songs didn't translate as well as they sound on record, and she sang the encore of older songs in a different manner that I thought did a disservice to them. Reminded me of how Alex Turner sings Arctic Monkeys songs nowadays. That said, the Perverts songs were a real treat and the lightshow was cool. I'm assuming she'll play Amazon Music Stage in the dark at Primavera. Should be more memorable than early evening Mordor in full sunlight.

Quite intrigued (and happy) that Fcukers are on the poster again for next year. They played both cuitat and main festival this year. Guessing with the release of a couple of tracks an album could be on its way but any ideas where they would go? Perhaps subbing Wet Leg on Wednesday freebie?

Clash-free Wednesday would be nice and fair, considering that last year they put them right in the middle of the worst clash of the festival (Beach House / TV on the Radio).

They also did a Boiler Room (it wasn't too much to write home about, tbf)

I was expecting to enjoy them but found them a bit naff and a second rate Confidence Man.

So hard to know as no precedent for a September announcement. Think before end of the month is highly likely.

Judging by the fact that Porto is usually released much closer to BCN and wasn't yet, I'm guessing we'll wait more than the 3 weeks last year. Also Lola Young might also delay things.

By the end of the month sounds reasonable

Based on nothing, I bet it will be something like:

Addison Rae - The Cure - Gorillaz

My Bloody Valentine - Doja Cat - Skrillex

PinkPanthress - The XX - Massive Attack - Peggy Gou

My rationals are:

- Spreading the pop names around the cartel in order to incentivize three days ticket

- The Cure having a "double slot" and hence justifying the lack for a 4th major name that day

- Gorillaz playing with The Cure for Strange Timez reasons

If I had to bet I think the day split will look something like (if they want to make it mixed/balanced):

Doja Cat • Massive Attack • Skrillex

The Cure • Addison Rae • MBV

The xx • Gorillaz • Pinkpantheress

And you still have big acts like Peggy Gou, Little Simz, Bad Gyal, Mac DeMarco or Big Thief to make any of these days stronger or more appealing to a certain target.
