Maybe not 2027 but Olivia dean maybe in the future? 4 nights at the o2 is crazy and she is everywhere atm and the sam fender collab plus a couple tik tok hits has massively increased her popularity

Reluctant to put her name on it, but the discussion will need to be had about the level she's at. They're The 1975-esque levels of dates.

I mean, has he actually done much this year at all?

Hardly anything.

Took most of the year off, bar a few small warm up gigs in Japan and then headlining Fuji Rock.

Dropped a mixtape with Skepta last week.

The lead single has been out a couple of months I think (Skepta finished his Glasto set with it). It’s got 75 million plays which I wouldn’t say is a drop off.

Don’t think we can quite call it a fall from grace yet, given he’s barely been around.

There's no way Fred Again... could sell Knebworth well.

Its far too difficult to get to! A good amount of his audience in the london area likely don't have cars either I'd guess which doesn't help. I guess if it was the only show announced. Would be such a random location anyway vs a stadium!

The buzz around him has dropped off massively, think wembley right now would be pushing it

He was added to Skepta's festival last minute and they had to give out free tickets for it and it still didn't sell out - although will admit it was super last minute and so most people would already have plans for a sunny weekend (+also crystal palace, which is way better connected than Knebworth!).

It’s a train from Kings Cross and takes 20-40 minutes.

It’s hardly travelling down to Penzance.

Goes to 125,000 (140,000 with staff) but I think Liam had it at 70,000.

Is there any realistic chance they get a concert licence approved for 125k under the current licencing regime?

I don't just mean in terms of how many people you can safely fit in the field.. But in terms of things like the traffic management plans that events have to put in these days, sanitation plans, etc. All that's changed since the Oasis shows of the 90s or even since the RW shows of the early 2000s.

I know they've got relatively easy access to the motorway, so it's not as big an impact on local roads as most green field events, but I feel like there'll be good reasons that there's not been a >100k event there in a very long time and that the (easily sold out) Liam gigs a couple years ago were capped lower when they could have easily sold tens of thousands more tickets.

Is it fairly easy out of the station? Always assumed it was, but have never been.

20 min walk.

Pretty sure they have shuttle buses too.

All in all you could leave central London and have a pint in your hand within the hour.

Not much different to Wembley.

Ah come on, that's not even close to accurate. It's substantially different to (meaning worse than) Wembley by any standard.

For a start that "20 min walk" is 30 at an absolute minimum to/from where they hold the gigs, and I still feel like that's being wildly optimistic. That's for a station on a single train line with limited capacity.

People moan about transport to/from Wembley, but there's 3 train stations, all substantially closer to the stadium than that, on 3 tube, 1 overground, and 2 national rail lines. They literally can (and do) put several hundred people on a train every couple of minutes. There's also a dedicated purpose built coach station. It's not perfect by any stretch, but it's substantially better than anywhere else in the country at handling 90,000 people and miles better than Knebworth by any standard.

Knebworth has always been a shitshow for these huge gigs, but people tolerate it because they're desperate to see the show. If these rumoured gigs happen next year, then I reckon they'll tolerate it for Oasis, but much less so for Fred Again.

Kings Cross to Wembley is 45-60 mins. Knebworth is pretty much the same.

Yes there are more trains to Wembley, but describing Knebworth like it's some sort of SAS mission is ridiculous. It's literally getting on a train then walking a bit.

I'm not claiming it's impossible.

I'm claiming that it's miles more of a pain in the arse than Wembley. Which it is.

Wembley takes another ten minutes to navigate once inside, to be fair.

The great lasagne tray of north London.

Yeah but you need to do a Bear Grylls survival course to get to Knebworth.

They actually sell twice the number of allotted tickets for each gig, but unfortunately half of the gig goers perish along the way, such is the hellishness of the journey.

It's simar live numbers to what Billie, Dua and Olivia (Rodrigo) were notching up when they got the call to headline.

She's way below them in terms of streaming / sales figures however......for now.

She can't be considered a headliner anytime soon surely?, I know she's getting numbers but they are surely taking her out of the realms of booking completely if she becomes nothing but in all terms? She's got her crowd but outside of that, that's it. Really poor choice personally if they called on her for it.

She’s a much better prospect than Raye who the festival/emily is clearly desperate to headline in the future imo

Couple more hits from her second album and she’s in the convo imo.

sam fender chose his supports well anyway with her and cmat who have both had huge summers

I'd have Raye all day over Olivia Dean.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
