Mainly, but all the major stages are getting upgrades as well. More details will be unveiled after the first announcement in early November. Also, think of "smaller acts" as in the cancelled 2020 undercard.

Did we ever hear anything about the main stage getting any sort of upgrade?

Would love to see The Wombats, they only had 2 gigs in Budapest so far (one of them was 17 years ago) and I missed both. But I doubt it, I'm pretty sure they're more expensive than what Sziget wants to pay.

Another band I could imagine is The Subways. They're a safe option, known in Hungary, likely cheap and available.

Few more from Reddit group, the Party arena tent looks impressively tall.

Needs it, it has a very strong lineup this year. Just a shame Boris Brejcha, Adriatique and Amelie Lens dont start until 3am/4am.

Thats going to be tough at 51. 😂

Is it a good sign that they have not yet been shown anything of the main stage? Could they upgrade that really?

Or we should give up on that?

Would be odd if they renewed the the other two main stages but not the main stage. The secrecy (no photos) about it is also intereting.

Has anyone laid eyes on the construction of it?

This is the photo of the main stage. They just started building it so you can't really tell if it was upgraded or not...

cmat would be a great replacement for kneecap

I guess it depends on whether Sziget wants an act that appeals to roughly the same demographic or not.

If you take a look at Glastonbury coverage of Kneecap and CMAT, their audiences are very different.

Next time he plays he will headline, a smaller headliner but headline. So I would imagine you are ok this year. 😃

He's a fantastic live act, he just doesn't have the songs to back it up IMHO. Realise I might be in the minority on this one though!

I agree. He was great in 2022(?) but I barely knew any of his songs and didn’t like any enough to actively start listening to him. But everyone seemed to be enjoying his show

Not listened to him to be honest, so no idea on that. Just know he is making big strides at festivals. Subbed last time he played, Rock Werchter love him and headlined Electric Castle recently.

Can see him one of the weaker headliner spots, perhaps 2027.

I don't think he's popular enough to headline. He's perfect as a sub.

But I agree, he's a name to expect this year, the guy is touring all the time and he's got a decent fanbase in Hungary.

I hope that since there is still no news about a replacement for Kneecap, they are actually working on finding a good replacement

I assume they must be; they surely can't think that just moving acts around is the right way to proceed.

However, I'm surprised they haven't done a reassurance post letting people know that's what they are doing.

    • Go on then, who's going to win? I'm going for France...
    • They’re even making AdP craft beers now. Nice IPAs too.
    • I don't think a whole raft of attendees who've been going every year since the mid 90s and mid 10s collectively all thinking the festival is no longer for us suggests we've all aged out of it at the same time. Something fundamental has changed and its pretty obvious what that is. The fact that theyve managed to skinny down the line up so much AND STILL get punters in is a real credit to the bookers, filling it with enough of the current thing to get the kids excited for a weekend while pulling in enough big names to make it worth a day out for the casual Florence fan etc... is impresive. Re Leeds: Annecdotally, from videos, numbers have looked tiny vs Reading, esp on the camping end of things, it would be good to know the official numbers and how much they're down from the peak sell out years
