I can’t imagine them not having backups already locked in ready to go. There is no way they started to just look now.

You would have thought that if Kiwanuka's illness is 'ongoing' then Sziget should have been made aware of it before today, so would have had a bit of preparation time.

Maybe it's Macklemore's time to shine.....🤣

Michael Kiwanuka handled by Red Light management so maybe one of these to take his slot: Artists • Red Light Management

Would love it if it was 'Of Monsters and Men' but suspect it's too early in their return for them to take on such a big slot.

Not many others on there that I know or would take. I mean, The Strokes or Sabrina Carpenter would be nice though 🤣

Will probably end up with Kaiser Chiefs or Sugababes.

Suspect that, if it was them, I'd moan like mad about it and then watch them and enjoy it.

Yeah me 2. Just not a band where I would buy a gig ticket, or watch if someone else of mild interest was playing.

Is there anything ruling out the kooks for the Friday slot? They’re at grape festival next Saturday

I did think it was almost certainly going to be them as their management company was subsumed by Red Light last year so seemed an obvious choice, but they're not listed on the Red Light roster of acts for some reason.

Probably still a decent shout though - also possibles for the Kneecap replacement slot I would think.

I believe the Friday slot will go to someone who fits between Pogány Induló and Kid Cudi, someone from a similar genre.

Day tickets for that day have been the poorest selling, so why would they continue down the same route with another rap name?

Maybe you're right though; adding a decent pop/ rock/indie name this close to the festival start probably wouldn't result in them selling many more tickets so why 'waste' the money? I'd be very disappointed if they took this approach well - reputation is everything.

Pogany into Halott might be a win for locals but for every other nationality it would likely to be a major disappointment, surely?

It would be a huge dissappointment for me as well, much bigger than Macklemore. Can’t get my head around their popularity.

I suppose if you look at it through ticket sales, a bit hungarian act was the way to go.

If they want a few more day tickets sales, they are likely to get them with a popular hungarian act. Rather than a club sized act.

Friday is really weak for me. Want to see Caribou, but, apart from them, the only other acts I want to see are Blossoms and Ekkstacy - and they clash! 🤣

A really strong replacement for Kiwanuka would make all the difference (I quite fancied chilling and watching him with a beer and a sunset).

No offence to any Hungarians (!!) but if they just go with the easy option of a local act it might result in a few more day tickets being sold, but I suspect it will also result in a lot of international 6-day ticket holders leaving the site and heading into the city for the night instead. Which isn't a great promo for the festival.

The festival guide and latest email say the campsite doesn’t open until 18:00 on August 6th for 6 day ticket holders. Surely that can’t be right?

That should say the 5th I would think - earlier if you purchase the 50 euro 'move in early ticket'.

F*cking hell, you've found a lot more than I have - I've got about 40 and you must be more than double that!

I might have to take another listen!
