Think, if we get any, that the most likely are one or two of: Tyla, Peggy Gou, Iggy, Chase and Status, Central Cee.

I know Chase and Status on the same day as Chappell roan for Pukkelpop

wouldn’t surprise me if they do the same here or close to it

Pukkelpop is a bit different. More bands play on the main stage and it doesn't close until 2am.

With Sziget main closing at 11am, Roan isn't headlining at 7.30pm imo.

Pukkelpop's newest announcement is a little underwhelming. Three or four I'd take but nothing to get me too excited.

RY X - Suki Waterhouse - STONE - Amaarae - Mall Grab - Luude - Loreen - horsegiirL - High Vis - Mogwai - The Chats - Yussef Dayes - Yard Act - Palaye Royale - FLO - Good Neighbours - The Dare - Jyoty - Interplanetary Criminal - Benwal - Paleface Swiss - Deadletter - The Murder Capital

I’ll take Luude, The chats and Suki Waterhouse that’s about it tbh

A late night set in Revoult from Mogwai would be epic.

Pukkelpop has certainly shown Sziget, how to deliver a multi genre lineup.

So, we all keep admiring other festival's line-ups this August and have fingers crossed that announcement three delivers something special. To get a feel of what that might look like, what three acts (that are around in August) would make your festival?*

I'll go with:

Little Simz

Royel Otis

Chase & Status

*Wet Leg not allowed, in case we curse it.

On the assumption that we're unlikely to see Fontaines D.C and Barry Can't Swim for two consecutive editions I'll say Doechii, Bloc Party and The Prodigy.

Difficult to pick three with a lot of great artists around, but let's say

Mk.gee
Vampire Weekend

and maybe BICEP

Bicep might be a good shout, either on the 1st night or last night.

Probably a DJ set more than live.

Fontaines DC also have a headline show in Budapest this summer, so they are 100% out

Was Nick Cave ruled out? He has 2 solo shows in Bulgaria in August + 2 shows in Latvia.

He isn't doing any major festivals this summer.

I thought Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds would of been nailed on for the big ones this summer, but they've taken it off. Same with Thom Yorke I thought he would of done his solo stuff around european festivals, but no luck.

Wouldn't of fit into the Sziget model though.

    • Pretty sure at the stage we can expect the charge for Man City will be a 10 point deduction for..... Everton
    • Ah those were the days....! When you could go to the festival and nearly drown.
    • It's only the last few years that the festival have started calling it the Legend Slot.  For most of its existence it's been the Teatime Slot, with the idea it was the sort of music that Jean Eavis liked to listen to whilst having tea on a Sunday afternoon i.e. MOR, Radio 2, borderline easy listening sort of music.  Hence bookings like Shirley Bassey, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, etc.  There's mibbe some overlap there with classic radio rock and of course the boundaries are all pretty fuzzy now, but it's generally not a rock slot.
    • I've never had any issues. Remember watching some Tour De France stages on phones in the past. Maybe at the festival sight it could be a problem, but I think people are spread out enough on camping.    Maybe it will be different this year with only teenage girls coming to see The Cure, David Byrne and Napalm Death 😅
    • They'll surely put AdP on Woods. They are aware of the off the scale level of hype.
