Just seen Way Out West announced Little Simz yesterday. She's playing Friday 8 August. Hope she's not another amazing act who's around at the time of Sziget that they miss out on. This one would be unforgivable!

Some great solo female artists around in August: Simz, Doechii, Lola Young, Jorja Smith, Suki Waterhouse.

Then there's also Wet Leg, The Last Dinner Party, London Grammar and Amyl and the Sniffers.

Give me most of these and I'll be completely satisfied with the lineup

I think the real issue is here, if they had strong undercard names, what's the reason that they've held them back? Especially as day tickets have already gone on sale now.

Unless they have been waiting to see how the festival sells before continuing any negotiations with acts which have gaps in their schedule.

The later the names are announced, the smaller the chance of international guests deciding for sziget, which it does rely on.

therefore, they are probable: queen of stone age, empire of the sun, damiano david, wet leg, idles, will smith  (london grammar i think not)

No.

QOTSA and Will Smith are definitely not being announced. They are headliners and no more headliners are being announced.

Maybe a small chance for the others

Probably any number of reasons they haven't been announced. It's six weeks since the last announcement and the bookers have probably been negotiating with many acts beyond that point.

Getting the headliners on board was the main thing, which they've done so can now focus on giving the line-up some depth.

There is definitely a significant gap in the middle of the festival that needs filling - the subs and the Revolut Stage headliners. Some of these are already announced but there's some obvious gaps on certain days.

My reasoning: they didn’t know how well the days were gonna do. As they now see how well each day sell they can use the remaining strong undercards to rebalance the days.

I am certain that the Shawn Mendes day does so well partially because of the strong undercards.

like I would buy a dayticket for that and I have zero interest in the man himself.

Hahaha - agreed. He is, to me, one of the least interesting acts playing that day.

I think that, if people are going to buy a day ticket to a festival, they need a minimum of three recognisable acts playing that day - so, even if you don't watch them, you'll feel like you are getting value for money.

I think your under playing the pull of mendes, whilst overplaying the pull of furtado.

I think that in february/March There Is no much of negotiation left for bands that already have a tour scheduled. My Guess Is that Sziget have already booked all names in Advance. The rest Is all about marketing. My Hope Is that they have announced the mainstream acts so far and have a clear idea now of how well this Is went. They got their under 21 crowd, now it's time to boost prices and Sales by putting something interesting on the tablet for the grand finale

machine gun kelly? Childish gambino? Glass animals? Sam fender?

I think Fender is headlining all his European festivals this year so I doubt that he will take a smaller Sziget slot but we never know

Not completely out of the question, from my memory Billie Eilish also played Osheaga i think the same year she played

    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
