Act 4 could potentially be Nick Cave. He is obviously from Australia and has just announced a solo tour with Colin Greenwood. They play in Norway 7th of August.

He wouldn't headlne with his solo tour. He isn't even doing it with Warren Ellis this time.

What I hope we'll get: A redressing of the balance between EDM/Pop and Indie/Rock acts with the announcement of more indie acts such as Wet Leg, Vampire Weekend, Iggy Pop, Biffy Clyro etc.

 

However, a festival announcing acts is hardly the 'surprise' they're teasing. Therefore....

 

What I think we'll get: The removal of A38/Freedome and replaced with a new EDM-orientated second stage. The combining of some of the smaller stages. The announcement of a dozen or so acts mixed between EDM/Rock/Indie including Snow Patrol, Empire of the Sun, Iggy Pop.

 

Oh, and a new beer sponsor.....

Looking at the announced acts we do need a new or redeveloped stage.  However they were talking about a night district.  So I think the arena is the one that will be expanded to include a few live acts and bigger light shows into the night.  That way coliseum is nearby.  Maybe a few dj stages over that side of the island.  No idea what they may do with a38,  weird they have removed world music stage, over on that side.  Exciting to see what they are dreaming up.   A38 was always quiet in the night as its miles from the arena.

Just a thought.  Maybe the night district is coming to where the a38 is now and the arena is gone.  Coliseum could move towards where world music was.  Maybe more live music at the back of the island away from the majority of the camping.

Guys, what if the Balaton sound stage DOES come, but it will only be stage 2. Armin and Justice would make a lot of sense headlining that. And also it makes sense that as Balaton Sound disappeared, they especially want to attract part of that crowd? Almost as if Sziget have merged Balaton?
