I liked global villiage as it had music and activities on early in the day.  I would be happy if they started main stage one act earlier round 2.30.     What would they replace global villiage with.  Maybe a workshop/wellness area.    Maybe they will bring back the luminarium.   As long as it’s not just more of the poor product advertisements that seem to be growing year on year.    Old spice car wash last year where the blues stage used to be

Please no earlier start, I’m glad if I can recover by 16:00 😅

Just seen ed Sheerans tour is starting. He plays Belgium on the 8th August and Poland on the 15th. He doesn’t seem to be doing any festivals but he has headlined before and he’s in the area at the right time. Wouldn’t be my choice at all and it was also dangerously busy in 2019 too

I'm a bit out of the loop. How do we know this?

It’s just a strong guess. Based on the following:

- Sziget is parting ways with their current beer sponsor

- On socials they referred to “beer cheers” for tuesday

- We know that there will be a new main stage

- Balaton sound festival is no more, they has a Heineken sponsor AND a Heineken main stage

- The same guys who made that stage, which is a full led stage already make a few stage stuff for Sziget and we think they will likely have an itteration of that Balaton Sound main stage

- Based kn all this, the same beer sponsor would likely be attached to it

Agree with the new stage and all that

could it be

post Malone cause of -  Beerbongs ?

only thing is he hasn’t announce a Europe festival yet I don’t think..so I don’t think that he be there

and Catfish are more likely to cancel

then to announce a festival date they days.. so unreliable

Act 2 is mk.gee

Syd for Solen announced all their headliners (Chappell, Sam Fender and QOTSA) so don't expect any big names in that announcement...

But I just want to point out that Sziget only shares 1 or 2 names with Syd for Solen every year and they already share Chappell this year. So even if they announced something great, I don't think they would appear at Sziget...

yeah that’s true at least it rule some out as much I’ll want them there at sziget

Didn’t think all 4 of those would be just at sziget just maybe 1 of them or 2

the first one is a bit mistranslated.

It says the bands only gig in Zealand (area in Denmark) will be played at Syd for Solen (the festival)

i don't really like the fact they're removing global Village from sziget. I went First time in 2015 and a lot of stages and activities were removed from that year on. If they want to focus on experience they also Need to provide alternative solutions. A lot of small and inconsistent sponsored bars/stages were put instead. I also noticed they'll require a "leave no trace" deposit ticket for people Who bring their own tent. I usually bring also a gazebo a table and some chiars for me and my Friends. Hope they won't change that in the "Island of Freedom"

Doesn’t that just mean a deposit that will be returned to you unless you leave your crap behind? I think it’s a welcome initiative if this is what it means (based on the name).

I will also miss the Global Village I hope they will come up with something nice.

It's just a money making exercise, on a festival that's lost money post covid.

3 more rock bands that I can see headline a day at Sziget are The Black Keys, Maneskin and Bring Me The Horizon. From these 3, The Black Keys are confirmed to be in Europe until July 19 with no other confirmed shows after that date.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
