Me too, but still think it would need to be as part of a co-headline deal. Maybe with Hozier or Sam Fender?

Or maybe someone more left field?

On a similar note, I see Biffy Clyro are headlining TRNSMT, would love for them to appear. Maybe do a co-headline with the Pumpkins, or Iggy Pop? After booking Papa Roach, I guess anything is possible!

Well Sting and Nelly furtado who at sziget already just got teased for pukkle pop festival ( tiktok )

so maybe the left field is Sting ? be a odd choice imo for sziget but who knows ( plus sting already been announce at a few Europe summer festivals this summer )

my left field is i reckon Shaggy will be there at sziget

Also if Chappell Roan playing all the way in Denmark 🇩🇰 during sziget why wouldn’t Sam fender do the same ? So who knows?… they still might have a chance unless there no free dates for them left ?

( Sam fender just got announce for it  )

Sting is surprisingly cool these days. I caught him here in SoCal, was very impressed with his set. He is not so preachy anymore, half of the set is big Police hits and his band is awesome. If he came and Franz Ferdinand subbed, that would be excellent. Franz has a new album, so they might be feeling fresh as well. Feels a bit "legacy", but with QOTSA ruled out and the Strokes MIA, Sziget needs to do something about a live rock day. Could do much worse than Sting, IMO.

Hi, QOTSA has already announced a concert in Budapest at Budapest Park for July 19. Cannot see them returning so soon, so they are likely not going to happen. Bit of a surprise, that. I thought they were bigger than the Park, but there you are.

But Sam fender looks possible maybe now headline the 10th? Idk

I would have baulked at the idea of a retro act like Sting being booked but neither Nelly Furtado nor Papa Roach have exactly set the charts on fire recently.

Perhaps they could have an AOR day with Snow Patrol subbing Sting. Put Boris Brejcha on in A38 at the same time to offer an alternative. Stranger things have happened....possibly.

I think we'll get co-headliners on the rock/indie day and reckon they'll be two of:

Sam Fender

Vampire Weekend

Snow Patrol

Hozier

Damm would love the Bleachers at sziget Beside that I just don’t see Lana or Tyler the creator at sziget I don’t know why.

Tyler already had other US dates announced for July and Australian shows for August, so he's been out for a while.

I would also love Clairo from these, she seems to have a weird touring plan going back and forth the US and Europe

I agree. Given she’s back an forth earlier in the summer, I don’t know if this rules her out at all

Sam Fender is not headlining. He played a sub two years ago, it was mid reception. No way he is getting bumped.

Just seen that Self Esteem has a new album out in April. Not seen anything about her touring as yet, but hope she does and hope Sziget picks her up. In the top five live acts I've seen over the past decade. Sublime.

headlining end of the road festival
