Weezer headline. 🤣

People here are considering Vampire Weekend as headliners. Weezer are way more popular band. And they also have a headliner slot at Mad Cool. And they are subheadlining other festivals.

I DON’T think they should be headliner but I wouldn’t put it past Sziget to do that.

Where did you see that Pukkelpop teased Nelly Furtado?

On there official TikTok there a video with her song on it.  Going off a pukkle pop thread same with sting and they think it’s a teased towards there line up

unless there trolling.. but I have no idea why they would pick a Nelly song out of all the songs so sounds about right

They played third out of three on the Green Day Hellamega tour too, behind Green Day and Fall Out Boy. No way they'd headline a festival the size of Sziget or Mad Cool. I'm surprised they're even second line at MC tbh.

Well you kind of get being behind green day and fall out boy, fall out boy a headliner at niche festivals like Download. Whilst even niche festivals, weezer sub.

Weezer will probably headline the 2nd stage at MC, same slot as Sum 41.

They won't play Sziget.

Well, they are all defined as headliners. They have two headliners for each big stage since it's 3 days. And even most of their second stage headliners would qualify as small headliners for Sziget. I was there in 2023 and these acts easily had 40-50k people on them and they would likely headline Sziget:

Prodigy, Black Keys, QotSA (questionable for me but ppl here pitched them as headliner), Lizzo.

Sam Smith and Liam Gallagher were also just "subs" in terms of Sziget and they actually headlined Sziget.

So yeah I would say most who are highlightes as headliner at MadCool potentially qualify for small Sziget headline or at least co-headlne.

(In fairness, headliner quality has gone down since 2023 at MC)

Yeah big style, which is the theme across the board. So lineup based festivals (MC, werchter), we're always going to struggle more. Although Werchter is looking good this summer.

Sziget still has a long way to go on the undercard, but in terms of headliners, I think so far they are doing quite well. I'll take Chappell and Charli over anything here at MC, and Anyma does seem to be a big deal, too. So while I still think Sziget has a long way to go with explaining the new stages and developing the undercard, they seem to be in a decent spot right now.

I would murder for NIN tho. One of my best gigs at Sziget. Otherwise this selection of headliners is abysmal in the context of MadCool.

Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, but I think Sziget is the only European festival this summer that has Charli and Chappell, which is a coup as they're of the hottest acts of 2024.

Not sure vids from Anyma at Sphere has gone quite as viral as they might have hoped, but there's still six months left for people to discover his music and visuals.

Given the likely success of Charli and Chappell at the Grammys, I wonder whether announcement two might come the following week, giving out strong new names and promoting the Grammy wins of C & C.

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂

    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
