I have tickets regardless, but maybe Bloc Party & Hozier sub KoL on the 12th.

11th Depeche Mode & New Order.

Sziget announcing their line up tomorrow so maybe an agreement to a joint announcement of an headliner (if neither have exclusivity). Honestly clutching at straws and hoping for a decent announcement

Yes please. All in for Depeche Mode.

Depeche Mode won’t be playing.  No plans for shows

Yeah Dave Gahan gave an interview about a benefit gig that they're probably gonna be quiet for a little bit. Which makes sense given they only finished touring Memento Mori earlier this year and they tend to take time off for a while after those endeavours.

Even Foster the People is too big for the second stage. Pumped Up Kicks have 2 billion streams on spotify and they have 18.5 million monthly listeners which is even higher than Kings of Leon which is at 18.4 million.

One hit wonder though. And that hit is 14 years old.

Much bigger in the US than over here though.

If you look at Spotify numbers they're as big as The Cure or Pink Floyd. But they're an american band with a huge hit and Spotify is a good indicator but doesn't say everything about how many tickets they would sell in Portugal today.

Just for an example, in August I've seen Wisp (TikTok and YouTube shoegaze-emo phenomenon with constantly a few millions Spotify monthly listeners and an almost 100M hit) playing in the smallest tent at Pukkelpop in front of less than 100 spectators. But she also had a sold out show in London the day after.

If they can find any other good band for the NOS stage, they will probably shift them to that stage, like what they did this year with Benjamin Clementine on the first day, tt was announced first for the Heineken stage but ended up on the NOS stage one week before the start of the festival.

I thought they'd dropped Pumped Up Kicks due to its lyrical content?

    • So who's got a good rain dance in the locker, then? Now we're in August the weather watchers can come out of hiding.    Already having flashbacks to last year (the dust cloud of doom at the crossroads by the Courtyard entrance).   Also got to be looking sketchy for the fire/fireworks on the Sunday. Might be a controversial opinion but wouldn't mind it - the fencing annoyance isn't worth the 10 mins of 'oooohhh, aaahhhh', plus the raining of hot embers last year!

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
