They've already ruined his perfect send off once 🙄

Must be part of their panic in having to re-write everything given people hated their initial plans and then Jonathan Majors' misbehaviour meant that plan had to go in the bin. Plus getting the rights back to X-Men means they've clearly decided they wanna do something with it, not least as adamantium is now apparently MCU canon from what I heard about the new Captain America movie.

Oh I'm happy for X-Men to be in MCU but just start fresh with them instead of constantly bringing back the old lot.

Pet Shop Boys have (for me at least, slightly unexpectedly) announced that they're going to do some summer UK shows this year, continuing with the Dreamworld / Greatest Hits show.

Odds on them being one of the missing BST dates?

I thought I saw an ad for a show - possibly Warwick Castle - a day or two ago, but haven't been able to find it since. I wonder if someone broke the embargo. Would think this might indicate the likes of Lytham, Cardiff, maybe Come Together... not sure of their pulling power for BST, but will be interesting to see what they offer.

Here we go. It's been taken down for the moment

Is he confirmed to be playing one of the dates?

I got my hopes up last year about SW at BST as there were very strong rumours back then.

if it’s going to happen it’ll likely be the last announcement IMO and I doubt there will be any insider info relating to SW before then.  Once bitten twice shy…

I’m still secretly hoping a bit though. And if I’m being fussy Saturday 12th would be perfect!

How many we waiting on now? Just the Friday and Saturday of the final weekend?

Yep, Fri 11th and Sat 12th July, before Jeff Lynnes farewell on Sunday.

Has to be a rock act of some sort, was hoping for Kings of Leon again but in Spain/Portugal on those dates. (UK beforehand)

Welp,

Between this and the Massive Attack date that's just been announced I could do with festivals quieting down on the announcements for just a few weeks lol.

Having said that I was so sad I was going to miss Chappell, Charli and Sabrina at Primavera. With this booked that's me not getting FOMO!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
